I hear alot of talk about the novel that talks about what happens after Halo blows up. Well, I was wondering if these books endings are going to affect the game? If it does, well then will Halo 2 have some sort of primer to bring those who have not read the books up to speed? I hope so because I don't really think our town library has the book and I don't want to have to go to the book store and wait 3 weeks for the book to ordered.

SPOILER ( somewhat) St. Johnson didn't die because he had this illness and they gave hima treatment that messed up his nervous system and so when the flood tried to take him over they couldn't because they go into the CNS
-
they do effect the game (i at least think they do) because on the video from the febuary issue of the xbox official magazine it show sgt. johnson from Halo 1 IN Halo 2,but didnt he die with Halo? ****SPOILER******* no! in Halo: First Strike in turns out that 1 pelicain escaped Halo with a few marines. one them being sgt. johnson.
-
Of course Bungie followed it, they wrote the storyline for it.
-
Yea the part about the truth and reconciliation is awsome. And it goes into the view of the covenant. Yayap the grunt and Zuka Zumamee the elite. Also the part about taking that base in the begining and returning to Pillar of the Autum. It even went into more depth with understanding all the forerunner and 343 guilty spark business. All the books rocked.
-
The third book sets up Halo2, and if Bungie didn't follow it they have a lot of explaining to do. I would like to see other spartans in play though.
-
The second book was written by some other Not as good wrighting guy. Oh yeah and i convenced my english teacher that the books are "Modern" english lit. And i got to read it for out side reading SWEET
-
but the book still hasd some very intersting differences like the hijacking of the truth and reconcilliation adn the base camp and taking tanks from the pillar and such
-
did you guys like the 2nd book? i didnt. it was too much like the game. i already knew what was going to happen. if halo 2 does follow the book i will be disappointed. im not big on story lines.
Posted by: Duce11
Posted by: Nefron Yes on the way but not there, because theres a rule that all human and captured covy ships have to get clearence to get near earth
Not clearance really but the cole protocal is still in effect. for some reason.
\ The reason why the cole protocol is still in effect is that covy ships have not yet reached earth, if youve read the books the covy prophet says get all battle ready ships to attack earth, and thats while the MC is on his way to earth, if i remember correctly there were 100 some what ships left out of the origanal 600 covy fleet that got destroyed so thats probly why the cole protocol is still in effect. ;}

Sorry, that was in my head. I knew i'd get it wrong
-
Thanks for your input guys, I'll save up a little dough and get me them books.
Posted by: baggyshortsman I have read all the books and from what i remember 1st Strike is just about the journey that MC goes on from Halo's destruction to arriving at Earth and finding the Covenant invasion. If you have not read them i implore you to do so as they are fantastic sci-fi books in their own right but the fact that they are set in the Halo Universe elevates them to almost 'Classic' status.
srry but your wrong Halo:First Strike has to do with the ending of the ring then the capture of a covenant flag ship then the finding of a 600 ship covy fleet at an covy space base then the destruction of that fleet so in the end th MC dose not reach earth . yes. yes it would
-
Or Bungie could just totally ignore the Books. But that would be -blam!-.
-
if you think about it, it would have to affect the game, or they would have to offer some explanation. Because in the last book you learn that there are still more spartens alive, sure not many but some, so if they arn't in the game, then there will probably have to be an explanation somewhere. Personally, i hope that they will be in the game, because that would just be sweet!
