For those who rush to "End Game"

With all the post/discussions about the content in this game, especially the scope of the cap. Just wanted to add my outlook. When an orchestra comes together for a concert, is it the musician the finishes playing first considered the best? I just wanted to give that analogy to retrospect how people are treating the information released about the game. So much time spent on contemplating what your going to do at the end of it. How will you be able to even enjoy the moments up to that point? Have a better overall experience, not a afterall one. Not telling people they can't look forward to content and exciting news. Just stop making your final decision today about something that's months away. We all want people to agree/see our opinions, let's just not grab our torches and pitch forks just yet.

  • Normally I'm all for the rush to endgame. Or level cap, rather. I love getting new gear and skill. But in the bit u was playing this game, I was throughly enjoying each and every mission, strike, and exploration outing! It's a truly immersive game that I honestly can't wait to spend more time with.

              • I'll get through Destiny at what ever pace I can. I'm not worried about hitting the end game too soon, because I know that life and work will keep me from playing the game as much as I would like. The game is going to be around for a while, so there is time to get through it. I'm more worried about if the endgame is going to be engaging. Are the new expansions going to come out frequently enough t keep your interest peaked. There are other games out there that will call for attetion after the launch of destiny.

              • Rush? 20 hours is not a long story mode and I bet that number is overhyped just like all the other things they have said.

              • many will probably reach end game fast. but just cause they get into raid fast doesn't mean they can beat it. doubt you can escape the grinding to be able to beat the raids.

              • BAM right here. I totally agree. I take my sweet ass time with every game I get to make sure I get my money's worth. Of course I can't wait until I'm up to lvl 20 and higher, but the best part of this game is going to be the path up to that point.

              • I tell myself the same things when playing mmo's(I know destiny is not an MMO but you have to admit its basically the same on a smaller scale)I love taking the story and side missions slowly to both enjoy them, perfect my character, have fun while I'm still a low level, RP a bit, and poor my personality and judgement into my character to give it a false life. Rushing through the game isn't fun at all and end game content doesn't leave much. Luckily events like the iron banner, expansions, raids, leveled strikes, black market, etc leave much to be explored.

                • As one of those planning to rush headfirst into the raid to try and beat it first I would just like to say that just because people like myself spend a lot of time contemplating how to attack the endgame content, it's not as though we don't enjoy the journey to the endgame as well. One of the things that entertains me most when gaming is theorycrafting. Knowing and planning for the endgame and having all of these spoilers as to ability sets, item builds and what not are high on my list of enjoyable gaming moments. Again however, it's not as tho all i think about or enjoy is the endgame. I enjoy the lore of the universe, the journey through that which we don't know and thinking about all the hilarity that will ensue upon that journey just as much. I hope this atleast somewhat helps clear things up for some people. Just because we like to play at a quick pace doesn't mean we aren't enjoying it fully for the entire time. I also don't plan on missing out on anything because after i get done rushing to the end i still have at the minimum 4 subclasses to level up as well so i can take my time and play at the snails pace on any one or all of those I wish.

                • This is true on so many levels! There is nothing worse than ignoring the content to get BiS first. I understand that is fun for some people, but my advice to those who don't truly like rushing to get it all, tell your clan to pump the breaks or they will be done the game in 2 weeks and crying on here for more. Search for all the ghosts, don't use the Internet to tell you where they are. Farm the best items out of the area before moving to the next. Find all of the hidden chests on your own. Explore, seriously take it all in. Play all of the classes, whatever you feel like playing. Don't play the game for weeks on end, limit it so it stays fresh for you, so you stay eager to see what's next. Go at a pace you actually enjoy and get your money out of the game. Don't make it a waste for yourself.

                • I am the last person you'll ever meet who "rushes" through a game. I've never believed in it. The developers have spent years crafting an experiencing that is meant to be enjoyed. Kind of like how Deej answered that question about skipping cutscenes in the 2old2play interview. "What, you hate art?" That being said, the more content the better. I enjoy games that I can sink my teeth into for 100 hours and still not see everything that it has to offer. I was hoping Destiny would be one of those games... and it very well may be. However, if there is truly only one explorable region on Earth... then the game is undoubtedly smaller than I anticipated. If that's what you're referring to as far as people "complaining about content"... then I can say that it has nothing to do with rushing through the game, and everything to do with expectations being too high. Whether those expectations are pure fabrication, or those of us with those expectations simply climbed aboard the hype train... well, that's another discussion, I guess. Oh... and to DeeJ... just because I don't want to sit through the same cutscene for the 5th time doesn't mean I hate art. Thank GOD they at least let us mess with our inventory/character while cutscenes continue in the background...

In most large RPG games like this it is often considered that the game doesn't even really start until you hit max level and finish the campaign. Bungie pretty much said that themselves in the most recent IGN interview and that's why the level cap is so low. So while I agree people should take their time, it just makes sense that people would rush towards the part of the game Bungie had the biggest plans for.

Steven Tyler said it best. "Life's a journey, not some destination". Enjoy the ride. I will be milking this game for all it's worth before I hit the end game. There is not much out this season. So once it's done. It's back to boring games. And if you rush through and get bored. It's your own damn fault dummy! lol I will be doing everything I can to stretch it out.
