The Engram system is the perfect foundation for personalized loot streams. But during the Beta, loot streams were less intuitive than they could have been. During the Beta all enemies had a chance to drop an engram for each player. But there was no guarantee that you would get an engram from the same enemy that your Fireteam member did. In fact, that was a very unlikely occurrence. I think that if you are in a Fireteam with 1 other person or more, that an enemy engram drop should happen for everyone in that Fireteam. For example, if my friend and I are in Fireteam and I kill a Dreg, if that Dreg dropped an engram for me, than it should also drop an engram for my friend because he is in my Fireteam. This system would make exploring and playing with friends more rewarding, and could also have interesting applications in various modes. For example, during Explore if I killed a Dreg and got a Green Gauntlet engram to drop, there could be different rules when it comes to what my friend gets. Maybe he is guaranteed to get the exact same engram (Green Gauntlet), though when we returned to the Tower they could still have a chance at deciding in to different items. Or perhaps he could get an engram of equal rarity but different type (e.g. Green Primary Weapon or Green Helmet). The guaranteed drops for a given mode could vary. Maybe during Explore my friend is simply guaranteed an engram, with no rarity or type restrictions applied. But during a Raid, he could be guaranteed the exact same engram as me (but no guarantee as to what it decrypts in to, of course). And during a Strike, he would be guaranteed an equal rarity engram but not the same type. This would make playing with friends more fun and lead to the kind of "loot history" that has been touted as a major draw of Destiny. To answer the question "Where'd you guys get that awesome Exotic stuff?", you and your friend could reply with "We went on a Raid together, and our accomplishment was rewarded with an Exotic Primary for both of us! I got Red Death, and my friend here got Arcus Regime." I hope that loot streams are adjusted to make Destiny as social as possible.
