3 LITTLE TWEAKS THAT COULD GO A LONG WAY!!!

First off, what a magnificent game! Bungie has done an excellent job in making - already - one of my favourite games! However, a few things are offsetting the pace of the game a little, BUT this is Beta so let's get into the nitty gritty. I have 3 things arranged in order of importance which will vastly improve the game's flow. Hope this gets noticed! 3. [b]Character Customization: [/b]There is a small lack of variety, we as players, live for in games like these. I feel 3 things let this great feature down. No facial hair options was a big surprise and disappointment. For humans, a lot of hair colours (especially blonde) is far too intense and strong. Hair tones like these NEED to be desaturated and tweaked a little! Eyebrows need to be slightly darker than the hair tones and a bit more washed. Right now most human hair combinations look considerably silly (which is a huge shame). A little tweak of this will go a long way! 2. [b]Tower Population Cap:[/b] Right now I believe that The Tower's phasing population cap is 16. I'm not sure if this was done purposely for the Beta, but I sure as hell hope not! This place feels borderline abandoned with only 16-or-so people running around, and makes travelling back to The Tower seem quite underwhelming. THIS IS THE TOWER - THE GUARDIAN GATHERING HUB!! This place NEEEEEDS to feel crowded and busy! Please do your best Bungie to crank up the cap as much as necessary to make the place feel like what it should be. 1. [b]Loot:[/b] I cannot stress this issue enough.. Countless times me and my fellow guardians are left confused after defeating The Devil Walker and Sepiks Prime. All we are left with after their death is a silent void of.. well.. nothing. No music, no "Boss Defeated", and in most cases no loot - literally nothing. Picking up loot is far from being in a good spot at the moment. Having the visual loot drops almost identical to ammo, special ammo and charge for your super is not working well. At a certain distance, it's almost impossible to tell - that's if you actually see it; WE NEED TO SEE OUR LOOT! <--- This is important. Very important. We need to be ensured we do not miss out on loot because we can't find it. When loot drops, it needs to be distinctly clarified and clear. An icon should appear above loot much like what was done for the quest items for the mission where you collect the dead ghosts. Eg. if a hand cannon drops, a pointer icon should exist over the loot with a simplistic symbol (preferably colour coded to it's rarity) to immediately recognise our loot. CLARITY goes a long way! I really do hope these changes are implemented. I REALLY HOPE this gets seen and recognised by the game gods Bungie themselves. I could not be more certain this will go towards a far better gaming experience in Destiny! Stay hopeful Guardians!

  • 1 and 2 ooo logic yes!!! And we need to be able to turn sounds up or down! and i need to turn OFF the dam music! its standard in all game to have sound options wtf! make this happen!

  • Friend priority when matching in free roam. When you drop in with your fireteam in free roam you should apear with your friends, rather than pre selected spawn areas, and getting to see your ship make the drop off will also be nice. Free roam 6 player fireteam. Or two fireteams linked as a squad. Explosions causing damage through cover destroy the purpose of taking cover. Scalling dificulty in free roam. More players increase difficulty, higher levels and ect. More and assignable emotes.(yes and no, terrified, happy, couragous, fist bump, high five, rock paper sciscors) A clan hall, faster tower recall option rather than having to select it in travel. Faster sparrow summon, allowing quicker escapes. Ship customization and more flight patterns in loading screens. Gun color choices. courior/escort missions in free roam. (diliver the bomb then detonate it in a hive spawn area)

So basically you want a Dark Souls boss theme and some Borderlands gear icons for weapon/gear. I could see how this could work and in some ways be a bit strange. Either way I see what you're getting at and the reward system will take some getting used to if changes don't happen.

    • Agreed, Agreed, Agreed! All these points were clearly obvious in the beta. For the loot point, not just more distinction but perhaps even you ghost autocollecting all loot at the end of the boss match this negates the issue of worrying about the time limit before the stats end mission comes up.

      Haha totally agree about the eyebrows dude. My first human female was hot as -blam!- in the creation screen, then my eyebrows were invisible when I reached the Tower and she looked like a chewed up wad of dry gum. I made an awoken chick later though so it's all good °3*

        • I agree about killing the minibosses and being left with nothing. Nothing is more disappointing than putting in work and getting no reward. It doesn't even need to be anything good, just an item drop would be nice. On the subject of loot i'm also hoping there is more in terms of gear etc that was just locked for the beta. I dont like the fact that items dont actually specifically have any rarities until ~level 20, the green, blue, purple gear is just level based and nothing more really. The implementation of different rarities for gear at all levels would be great also, it would make just running around farming in PvE fun, would be nice to open a chest and if you're lucky get a rare gun you can use for the next few levels etc. Another thing that would be good is different qualities of the items (e.g damaged, worn, average etc that a lot of rpg's use just as a modifier to make it seems like there's more weapons) that affect the damage etc of the loot you get decoded or pick up. It would make finding gear a lot more luck based and a lot more fun than a few randomised pieces you can get each few levels and pick up over and over.

          I agree with everything as well. I wish the loot was a different shape so it wouldn't roll and definitely a different colour. Every time is saw bright green I got excited that I found a rare weapon loot but it turned out to be special ammo. The heavy ammo's colour stood out a lot, no way you could miss that. Loot and ammo should be different colour's and have little icon's above them.

        • My network would not be able to handle more than 16 people. It's can't even handle 16. I'm not saying lower anything just because I have shitty internet, but just that I'd be screwed out of game because of this.

          • Agreed on all. The loot at the end of the strike is nice but having some immediate feedback from killing a boss (besides the noise of sepkis) at least in the form of seeing loot drop is underwhelming. Boss farming for loot maybe doesn't have to always be guaranteed, it's nice to get [i]something[/i]. Just having it drop on the ground to show what you earned and get excited (and yes visible to not miss, this post master will have it has not happened for me) would make a difference. Seeing nothing and then the delay of gratification by waiting for the load screen in hopes you got something is a killer... Thanks to OP for post. Hope Bungie sees.

            • On the loot, currently you get 2 items upon finishing the strike (they've always been of uncommon quality for me but I don't know if better quality items are possible or will be for higher level strikes). So, if you think about it, that's an uncommon for killing the devil walker and an uncommon for killing Prime. All bungie needs to do here is make them physical drops and people will probably be much happier. Immediate reinforcement is much more powerful than delayed.

              • Any loot that doesn't get picked up, goes to the postmaster in the Tower (might not be the postmaster, but one of the droids in the Tower). While that is cool, so we don't lose out, I agree that the loot is hard to see and that it would be a little annoying running back to the tower for loot. There are times where I need the loot ASAP. I do really like the idea of never losing your loot though! Good things Bungie, good things....
