The Traveler is supposed to be a protector. Yet what does it do? Hover. It hovers and lets the Guardians do all the heavy lifting. Humanity is not safe on Earth. Humanity is not safe in the Last City. The only hope for humanity is to leave.
That's right. We need to leave. Let the Darkness take over, and flee from this ridiculous notion that we must hold our 'last foothold.' It's foolish. All we have to do is find another mountain entirely and we won't need this foothold to climb it at all. We need to be honest with ourselves. The Traveler is weak. It isn't evil, it just isn't powerful enough to do its job. That means we can no longer depend on it. We are counting each day our walls stand against the forces of the Darkness, grateful to be alive let alone to prosper.
If you need proof of our desperation, just look outside. See the crumbling Traveler. See the crumbling walls. See the ships scrounged from the past, unable to reach even the nearest planets without warp drives. We are lost unless we muster our forces and find a new home. A new life. A new future.
Dead Orbit is the Best Orbit, and make no mistake- Earth is most certainly dead and orbiting.

The traveler is the only thing that gives us power to fight back the darkness, and if we leave it, the darkness will come eventually, and it will find us. Even if we flee the system, the chances if us finding a garden - hell, merely livable - world are slim to none, it would only seal our fate. Survival is not always about running away. We have power, we can fight. Go and be cowardly if you must, but I will die with honor.
-
It seems to me that the traveler and the darkness are both beings that cannot fight for them selves but can give power to others, it's like a grudge and the travellers using guardians to fight the darkness who is fighting us using these aliens which it have its power to. We are merely pawns, made to fight the travellers battle for it.
-
Yes, because The Traveler is "dead." Did you miss the cutscene after the second (third?) mission?
-
u r the traveler u died n came back to life to take control of the world again lol idk man

Edited by Dexos_Dragonfire: 7/25/2014 10:31:13 PMThe traveler was the only reason we were not obliterated back in the collapse. it has the power we need to fend off the darkness... But it was wounded, and in its dying breath the traveler gave the able the remaining power of its light. A power that gives us the powers of body, of mind, and of guns, all at our fingertips! We must defend the our worlds and the traveler against the darkness if we ever want any hope of once again achieving a golden age. Only the guardians hold the hope to become legendary.
-
I can see where you are coming from, but do not lose hope yet fellow guardian, we have yet to see what the traveler holds inside
-
The Last City is actually the only place left that the Traveller has the power to protect. It's in a catatonic state after the battle with the Darkness and lacks the ability to move or speak. We're like the foot soldiers of the Traveller. Moving around and defending the places that the Traveller currently cannot.

Dead Orbit is life

As a warlock I dissapprove of this heathens message.
-
Unless i misunderstood, i thought Dead Orbit worshipped the Traveler. Can someone explain?

Edited by Mezuki: 7/25/2014 11:38:00 PMWhy abandon something that has given us so much? The Traveler sparked a whole new age for humanity & sacrificed itself to save what was left of us after the Darkness came. I think we owe it to the Traveler to do all we can to save it & maybe defeat the Darkness
-
The traveler gave his light so that we may counter the darkness and this is the thanks you give, you'll just up and leave. There will always be guardians brave enough to call home to the city which the traveler watches, so long as the darkness remains
-
If there was no traveler, there would be no ghosts. No ghosts means that your carcass is still laying on the edge of the roadway. You and all the other guardians laying dead by the roadway means the darkness will take over. Don't diss the traveler.

What? Flee???!? I am an elite warrior we do not flee. (Vegeta voice) #awokenhunter

Edited by PA1NT 17 BLACK: 7/26/2014 1:03:04 AMBut this is our home, our seed. We've....I've lived and died through this horror not to turn my back on my world. Yes, our goals must be large...to take back the stars, push back the darkness...but to abandon the sole thing we exist to protect would be treachery. Stay strong brother/sister. It may just be dirt...but its OUR dirt... #HumanHunter

Meh wither way I can survive on an apocalyptic planet #Exo4lyfe

This is blasphemy the traveler is our savior, without it we would be nothing!
-
Today is a good day to die!!
-
Join Dark Guardians senior! We dont worship the flying beachball either!
-
Oh man, what quality cringe material to add the compilation. Good job being retarded as always.
-
Move where? You can't walk out of a fortress under siege.
-
It got mega boned and damaged few centuries back. We don't know if it's healing or dying. It triples our life spans and can bring people back from the dead so I'm gonna trust it
-
As long as there is fire, there will be steel. A king and his knights would never abandon their castle. And so the Iron Banner will never do. We will plant our bloodied boots into this earth, and we will fight until we are torn from it. For as long as there is fire, the iron banner will fly. #ironbannerrepresent!

Yes, but imagine how much worse it would be if it wasn't there.

Better to defend a world we already have than risk going out into the Galaxy where there may be no life at all. Or any habitable planets that we can settle down on for a permanent home.
