Punishments for leaving PvP early is not fixing any problems. A way to solve everyone's problems.

Punishments do not solve anything. People leave matches early for any number of reasons, internet, unforeseen circumstances, rage quitting, whatever. Rage quitting is not the problem, its a shitty solution for some to solve a problem. Bottom line is it still happens. The internet and unforeseen circumstances are out of our control, but rage quitting? That is easy to fix. Quitting ruins the fun for others, but so does taking a clan into a PUG and destroying the other team. You have two problems, from two different types of players, but only one "solution" that doesn't work, and only punishes one type of player. And some of these competitive players constantly bitch about other players "sucking," and how they hate having them as team mates. Guess what? With Crucible points and the gear you get from those, you will have to deal with them. And do those same players want to take the time to help those who are not as good get better? Here is my idea on how to fix people quitting. This will benefit the competitive and casual players both. Instead of punishing players, make ranked and un-ranked matches. Un-ranked matches cannot have teams or clans, and are just that, un-ranked. Players can still earn crucible points. Players not really concerned with winning or losing, or competing can come here and still earn their crucible points and get access to all that gear. Ranked matches on the other hand, have learderboards for individuals and clans. Now, to keep people playing, lets say there is a monthly clan / individual award. Something like armor or weapons that cannot be bought anywhere in the game. Clans and individuals can compete every month for those, and anyone that quits mid match, forfeits the tournament. This is the place for those competitive players to go, and stay. They have a challenge, they play with others to try to be the best. These players also complain about "shitty players," so here there would be far less. Simple. This way, the casuals can stop getting destroyed by clans, and the clans have somewhere they can go where they have a challenge, and significantly less likely to see teammates quit, or having "crappy players" on their team. I don't like it when people rage quit, personally, I stick things out when they do get real bad, but I cannot say that when I was in PvP 4v6, that one player left mid match to leave our team down to 3, that I didn't understand why they left, nor did I get upset. I just think having a punishment is only punishing one type of player, instead of fixing an issue that both types have.
