that if you use the in game chat with your fireteam, INSTEAD of a party chat, they tweak your voices like Dinklage on the Ghost.
It sounds like youre talking in a helmet over comms. It changes depending on your surrounding environment.
Your voice echoes in caves and buildings.
Nice addition I must say.
Just one of the little things I accidentally learned yesterday.
Pretty cool stuff Bungie!
EDIT: Here is a clip from where we discovered this the first time. Keep in mind the distortion you hear from Mooses mic at the beginning is just his mic being wonky for a sec. It might happen twice and is in no way part of the in game chat. It's just wonky for a split sec, too loud or too close or something. But you can hear it pretty well.

It's cool and all but me and others I played with had an issue. No matter what the settings on the PS4, chat audio came through the headset and TV. Which was immensely annoying to me and is the only reason I preferred Party Chat.
-
So what happens if Steven Hawking plays? Will he sound like R2D2?
-
How do you use in game chat
-
Just watch this u can hear it clearly!
-
Thanks
-
I'm on ps3 and maybe it was just me but nobody was talking in game. Now I'm sad because I'll have to wait over a month to experience this. Were people more chatty on the ps4 version? I was going to grab that white destiny ps4.
-
This happened when my girlfriend and I were playing, our voices echoed inside a building and I was like, "is something wrong with your mic?" XD
-
Bacon bumps
-
That is awesome. Never tried chat yet.
-
Yeah I like it!
-
I thought that was just my Kmart connection making people sound that way.
-
On the 360 version it just sounded like my friends voices were coming through my headset and tv at the same time so I turned it off
-
Edited by Watchtower: 8/7/2014 1:29:58 PMHuh? In game chat instead of party chat...what do you mean? I've only played over ps3...our clan either uses in game or team speak for communication...and the fireteams communication was as clear as say...GTA v or borderlands 2 etc.
-
Yeah i knew that and i really liked it and then i thought why do they not want game chat for people on the same strike even if they arent in the same fireteam
-
Also they change if the sound is heavier on right or left ear depending on your position to the player speaking. Works on ps4 too.
-
Every xbox game I've played makes in-game voices sound like comms. Clear audio seems to be exlusive to party chat.
-
What you mean like Dinklage on the Ghost ? you mean I sound like Dinklage ??? canceling my pre-order now! jk, of course its really cool.
-
um why am i just finding out about this thats awesome!
-
Good stuff.
-
Does this work on 360?
-
Cheer for the heads up, that indeed sounds cool :O
-
Will this work with Xbox 360?
-
It's the first thing i noticed when my friend and I were playing. I said wow your voice sounds amazing and he got totally the wrong idea....
-
Thats an awesome touch to this game, but can other random people hear you when ur talking to your fire team?
-
damn, that's awesome and is gonna be really cool for raids/dungeons
-
Was wondering why sometimes they sounded like that and other times they didn't. This is why!
