3 Dumb Reasons Why The Beta Shouldnt Transfer (imo)
I personally would rather not have a wipe but if it happens it happens and its whatever but the 3 dumbest reason for why the beta should wipe that I keep hearing are just annoying, her me out.
1-First Day OP- This one is highly stupid considering the fact that everyone one is just worried about getting stomped in the Crucible when over half the community I can guarantee just want to play the actual game explore and grind for gear. Plus you are straight delusional if you don't think dudes are gonna get the game at midnight go home hit lvl 8 in 4 hours or just play all night getting to lvl 14 to roll you in the Crucible at 3 in the afternoon the next day.
2-Its Not Fair For People That Didn't Play The Beta- No its not fair you want Bobby over heres lvl 12 AR to get wiped just cause you couldn't find a way to put down 5 bucks on a game in a years time, plus once again you can get to a decent lvl to hang in the Crucible in all of 4-5 hours get over it.
3-It Ruins The Story Experience- Lmao no it doesn't if you cant remember in a month that your first run of missions led up to the defeat of a giant eyeball named Sepiks Prime than you have issues. I personally will no doubt be able to jump right back in to where I left off if the beta carries over and be happy I didnt have to spend 5 hours doing something I've already done and just immerse myself into gear hunting.
These are 3 dumb reasons I keep hearing, in conclusion either way I'm stoked for the game and really happy with how the beta feels and how fun it is, if it carries over that would be great if it doesn't I'll get over it for sure cause its no big deal but at least come up with better reasons for why it should.

Ok so people just don't fully read and cant realize I am honestly not for or against a wipe. Either way I'm gonna play this great game and be happy. I'm just arguing my point against the 3 dumbest reasons why it should wipe in this post, so please quit with the personal attacks with the stand point of "OP wants a Transfer' I know damn well the chances of a wipe are 98% I'm just asking for people to stop regurgitating the same 3 damn reasons. well i would like to transfer over some stuff as i have bought emblesm, ships and speeder bikes which i plan to put in bank before beta finish so they transfer. and some weapons and armor. even if they transfer toons to release i will still be starting again cos in 2 months when the games out i don't wanna be level 8 doing level 6 missions ((why to hell have they got that annoying level 6 mission on the moon there just rub in our faces we can't get further)) at level 8 . i mean right now doing level 8 devils lair is a walk in the park as long as the other guys keep up. did that our 3-4 times today was fun except for the tank thing which takes ages.

1 ReplyI kinda hope my stats carry (i.e. grimoirw score) but otherwise I want to experience the story with everything as 100% as it can be. I'll gladly replay the first few hours if Peter D's voice gets revamped as much as it did from Alpha into Beta.

Take the Beta items all you want, I go for Vanguard, and PS exclusive armor and weapon! You use semi gun , we use automatic, you use legendary gun , we have exotic gun! So, have it your way then !

2 RepliesYou do realize the beta is like a months old build of the game. Meaning so much of this beta, most definitely, will be completely different compared to released version.

2 RepliesBecause difficulty was severely adjusted between alpha and beta and my guess is they aren't finished. Personally I think it is TOO easy at the moment and if they do increase difficulty, why should content be transferred from an easier build that had accelerated leveling? Some people just realized their 50 hours in 5 days is for nothing and want to change that to validate their time, move along.

Should implies you have a say in it which we don't. The question is weather you think it will it will not? I don't think it will. Why would test game carry over to full game? Never has before.

6 RepliesIm for it for one reason, we are playing a great game that is broken for the test. They are looking at their algorithms to see what is the intended drop rate vs what the game is dishing out. I have a funny feeling the lvl ?? are levels 7 or 8s. Earth is the starter zone, not end game challenges and should not have legendary gear. Unless we're knighted by Merlin who gives us a class item of honor for completeing his challenges, StarGate reference. The one thing I hope is they dont nerf the slide and shotty technique. Not good at it yet like you dudes, but its fun when I pull it off. Im out Gs

i could care a less about my level or my gear but... WHY WOULD U GIVE US ALL THIS CURRENCY (STRANGE COINS ASCENDANT ENERGY/SHARDS AND GLASS SHARDS) AND TAKE IT AWAY?! OR LEGENDARY DROPS IN IRON BANNER THAT WE CANT KEEP LIKE WHAT THE HECK?! i worked all this time to get my reputation up so u guys could just rob me ... i enjoyed the beta but bungie is the is only ones who benefited from it if all we get is a friggin emblem. i mean i spent 5 dollars on preoder they know imma buy the game been playing beta since day one just wasted 10/11 days of my life if all i get is an EMBLEM! Love u Bungie but be realistic!

I think all the gear you have equipped in the beta should carry over and be mailed to you in the full game upon reaching level 20.

2 RepliesHeres the only reason character progress wont continue into the full game. Bungie design levels and strikes with a certain character level in mind, they want you to do the old russia at level 1-5 and then moon at 5-10 or whatever. The games levels are designed around a certain idea that bungie has of the players. Carrying over all your progress from the beta throws that balance out of wack

Exp rate wil be allot slower in the full game, and gear drops wont be so easy, making farming so much more rewarding when finallly get a good drop , the change from alpha test to beta test i dont wont carry over, im on beta to test limits of game,

I say, clean slate for everyone, except for the special rewards. I`ll never get tired to start the game again for my new chars. One thing i found interesting, i downloaded the beta for my PS3 today and when i started playing, all my lvl 8 chars were available to play. If this sharing is account bound, i`ll be buying the game for my PS3 also.

4 RepliesTheir reasons are just as valid as yours. They aren't "dumb" just because you disagree with them. Now, for why I think the game should be wiped can be condensed into three simple reasons: 1. It really makes people too overpowered in the Crucible on day 1. 2. It ruins the story experience for the game as a whole if we don't wipe. I for one have a very short memory and that month and a half will wipe my memory 3. It really isn't fair for people who didn't play the beta, all because they didn't want to pay $5 for some "arbitrary money grab". Thoughts, OP?

I am kind of on the side that they should wipe it. Clean slate for launch and we really have not done that much.
