I've been enjoying the Beta since it opened up on the xbox yesterday. However I have 1 major complaint about the interface. After every mission or any time I want to move from zone to zone I have to press and hold the Y button to return to orbit.
Now this is fine except for that part where it takes 5 seconds to do this. I understand there needs to be some delay on this function but 5 seconds is much to long for something we are going to have to do a few thousand times over the months/years we play destiny.
Just as an example of how ridiculous the time delay is. I was in a crucible match and decided I wanted to leave. I opened my menu and started to hold Y. In that time I died and the return to orbit function was cancelled. I respawned, opened my menu again and started holding Y again. I died again before I managed to return to orbit and had to restart the process yet again. It took me 3 lives and around 30 seconds just to be able to leave a match, and while I was trying to leave I cost the team 2 deaths worth of points on top of my leaving.
If the timer was reduced to 2 seconds I don't think many people could accidentally return to orbit and it would make things a lot quicker for the rest of us.
Now for those of you saying "oh its just 5 seconds get over it". This is 5 seconds that we are going to be doing hundreds if not thousands of times. Its similar to open world games where it takes the character 10 seconds to get into a car. You might get in a car over a thousand times before you stop playing the game and while it might be interesting for the first few times to watch after a short while you just want it to go faster.
I love the game, great job Bungie, and hope to see this improvement made before launch.
