A lot of people say the hunter's double jump is the best class moving ability. While I really like levitating as a warlock, I think that ability would be a hell of a lot more useful if we could aim and fire our weapons while levitating. As it is now if you levitate and ADS or fire, the levitation cancels and you fall to the ground.
I can see a lot of tactical potential in being able to shoot while flying. If you're floating sideways you could fire down at any hostiles on the ground while making yourself more difficult to hit. It could make levitation an extremely deadly ability if used well.

In halo, The jetpack was a cheap way to play cause it allowed people to float around hailing bullets on people. It was border line game breaking for some people. Which is why they hated armor abilities among some other AA's
yes Destiny isn't halo.
However, that beings said each guardian gets a jump ability, so it balances out in Destiny. Idk if it's a Good idea or not though. I do see it expanding the sandbox. I'm still upset that I can't have crouch on left stick. I can't jump and shoot comfortably either as it stands it's straight forward game play. Kinda benefits the twitch shooter. Allowing things like that along with better hip fire changes how the sand box feels for players. There's arguments for all of that, Some reasonable, some not reasonable. An argument over realism is ridiculous though. Its a game with space magic, is doesn't get much More realistic than that right?

Its a pain you cant defend yourself mid float. If your commited to a canyon jump and get shot at, you can either cancel float and fall to your death, or continue and get shot and die.

Look at your abilities in your subclasses, their in there just not available in beta

I like the dropping mechanic, i hate floating for too long makes me a pretty easy target to peg. Now if i could change directions more fluidly then hell yea but that would give a serious leg up to warlocks and titans, though the hunter redirect on double/triple jumps could be more responsive to balance it out as well

The second underclass of the warlock has a skill that hold you a short time in the air when you aim ;)
