To begin the game feels very easy and that it is designed for someone who does a run through of FPS's on easy or normal, not legendary. The "Hard" version of the mission seem only linked to a gearscore and not player ability. For example, the mission when you first encounter the witch (suggested hard level 6, done at level 3) I was gated by the shield values of the boss to such an extant that I would run out of ammunition ( With a high concentration of these shots, being "criticals") before an opportunity arose to be able to kill him. It began to feel like I was having to break the game in order to progress rather than rely on my own abilities as a player to move any further boss.
On the notion of critical hits, the aim assist feels far too present to convince me that any of the aiming is my own. I play a lot of shooters, and I don't have a problem saying that I am very good at them, but what is the point of being a competent player when the game is already doing it for me? The AI feels very predictable and primitive with enemies making the same response to different approaches and the UI feedback from hits very obtrusive and unnecessary if there were visible cues, animation related feedback, when criticals were hit.
I was very excited to play a new Bungie game as I have been following you since Marathon, but from my first immersion into Destiny, I am starting to feel that this game is designed for someone else.
