Matchmaking needs an overhaul

It seems like every time i see an enemy in Matchmaking, one of us is dead almost immediately. There's no fight, it's just whoever shoots first, or whoever has a better gun wins the fight every single time, which isn't very fun. Not only that, but vehicles and turrets are way OP. You can kill anyone in one shot if you have the heavy vehicle. Things Destiny's matchmaking needs: -nerfed damage -nerfed vehicles/turrets -forced loadouts otherwise it's just completely uneven and unbalanced.

  • I think a lot of it comes down to armor classes. The game is working as intended; e.g. a shotgun is delivering it's maximum amount of damage at point blank range... but if I'm a level 6 with a con-white chest armor... and I get hit with a level 8 whose got a green shotgun with elemental damage and all green if not blue armor... of course I'm a bit S.O.L. even with the level adjustments. I would note that these types of problems are only going to get worse at higher levels where players will be more likely to have armors with multiple stat boosts, there is a greater diversity in powers actually taken and/or leveled by the player, and there are more subclasses to deal with. That being said, Bungie has at least given some thought to the K/D not being the be-all / end-all in some of the multiplayer modes. E.G. it's possible to take the number one position in the Control Beta... even with a 0.26% K/D... just by working the zone captures. As long as Bungie focus's on ensuring that K/D is not the be-all/end-all of the multiplayer matchups then such unfair encounters could be tolerable.
