When I launch the beta on xbox 360 it goes to a black screen and stays there what do I do?

This really sucks... I was so excited to play it. But it turns out it cannot be installed onto an external hard drive. I'm sorry I hope they can fix this.

It's because the game cant be downloaded/installed on flash drives, has to be installed on the main system hard drive which really sucks for people with 4gb or lower hard drives.

7 RepliesI know how it feels I'm having the same issue. From reading comments on Reddit, it appears that the Destiny Beta requires you to run it off of your hard drive. So chances are you're using a USB. If you don't have enough memory on your Hard Drive, delete game you don't play. If you have a small Hard Drive that's only like 3 or 4 gigs (which is what I have) then you need to upgrade that.

I heard if you're using an external device/USB and downloaded it on that it won't work , I'm having the same issue.

Getting the same thing...looks like we can't play the beta unless its launched from an internal HDD, on 360 at least. what console you on?

Did you download it to a flash drive only works if you download it to hard drive

You have to download to your hard drive not a flash drive.

2 RepliesI was excited to try the beta only to be disappointed by this black screen problem. Bungie did not state that we needed a HDD on the Pre order page or when I got my beta key! I am not buying an overpriced HDD when my USB drives work just fine! Way to screw us out of the Beta! Pre order cancelled!!!

Yeah I cancelled my Pre-Order Waste of time. It pisses me off that we can't use an external drive for this.

i'm having this same issue even though i have an internal hdd. it shows there's over 50gb of space left and that the destiny beta has been installed onto it. no other games i play have a problem with the hdd. can someone help me out please?

1 ReplyApparently the problem is storage. If you use an external storage (no matter the size) like a USB. You CANT play!!! At all. it's not compatible and the site has it stated in a few places but they're kind of hard to find. You need a specifically Xbox 360 Hard Drive to download otherwise it basically corrupts and you cant use the code. Same thing here. Now im kinda pissed.
