Couch Co-op Splitscreen
I think that including local splitscreen would be a way to strenghten the multiplayer aspect of the game. I've wanted to play co-op with my brother, but we haven't been able to because we only own one PS3. Plus, couch co-op has always been one of the funnest parts of video games! And Borderlands managed to pull Splitscreen in a pretty neat way, I think Destiny can pull it off too.

Unfortunately there is to much on the server end for last gen consoles to handle 2 people. Hopefully by destiny 2 you guys will have upgraded and we can have split screen on next gen

Yes plz. My sister is very upset that it is not split-screen. I was really looking forward to playing with her and my dad but we can't now.

Split-screen has always been fun, the early games before they went online were a great way of being social. The whole point of online is to be social, why not have a great time with others, at home on the same game. Seems logical to me but I don't think they will apply this into the game. Would be a shame if they didn't. But I can probably account for most people by saying that we will still enjoy the game.

If there was one thing I wish Destiny had, it's 4 player spitscreen multiplayer. This is what made all my friends love Halo. And it's the reason none of my friends care about Destiny.

3 RepliesI'm in complete agreement with the idea of split-screen co-op. Just make the draw distance shorter, steepen the scale of lowering detail by distance, shorten the sight range for seeing other players, and maybe tone down or remove some of the less important lighting and graphical effects when in split-screen and you've got a workable concept. Tons of other games have made that work but kept the framerate and gameplay well within acceptable ranges (e.g. halos, gears, borderlands) The biggest decision is how to allow a guest to hop into a higher level character's game... Maybe scale the guest's stat level to the host (?) like the inverse of multiplayer's level bonus removal?

2 RepliesHow that can be done is basically 'borrowing' another Guardian from the same account to act as Guest, addendum being that the Guest has to follow the main Guardian user. I don't think they'll do it however, so you may have to acquire more funds OR have another Guardian character for your brother to play while you probably Garry's Mod on PC or something.

I was also hoping for splitscreen, couch co-op is one of the most undervalued and underrated features of modern games in my opinion. The thrill of a game's experience shared in person is like no other.

2 RepliesI have a fiance who loves this game too. As it stands, there's no way for us to experience this game together. I also have friends that I routinely split screen with. Please Bungie, add split screen. For a social game, it does a very good job at alienating people in the same room.

9 RepliesThe new age of couch co-op is 2 tvs side by side with 2 consoles etc. That's just the way of things now. Most games are too graphics intensive to cram into one tiny split screen, plus taxing on your machine to run two separate worlds side by side when you guys are roaming different parts of a map.

The only way for you to make a difference here is to not purchase the game. If you still buy a copy, your $60 still goes toward sales figures regardless whether one or four people are playing it. This means you're offering zero incentive for it to be added. Now compare that to people like myself who are buying additional consoles and copies of the game. Point being, almost none of you are going to avoid the game. The only reason you are giving for Destiny to have splitscreen is that you really want it. That's not how a business works. If you really feel so strongly about it, then in all seriousness do NOT buy Destiny. That's how you get results.
