My biggest problem with the Supers...

So in the Alpha I was annoyed with the Hunter GG because in comparison to the other two supers at the time it seemed way to underpowered. Now with more playtime under my belt in the Beta and the fact that Bungie let the subclasses rank up more I can say that I see promise in the GG ability. With that being said I will point out one problem that I still have with the GG ability over the other two. With the other two supers I noticed the player gets a bit of invincibility when they are casting and this gets very annoying. There have been multiple times where I had a guy almost dead only to be met by a Nova Bomb to the face or a Fist of Havok shockwave because the enemy stopped taking damage. I don't have a problem if I miss my shots and the enemy beats me, I have a problem with me getting the jump on on the guy and have the opportunity to shutdown his super and the game just says no. On the other hand the Hunter gets no form of invincibility whatsoever. I can be killed while in the casting animation and while using the super. In my opinion ither the Hunter needs invincibility while prepping the super or take say like 50% less damage while the super is in use. Also it annoys me when I pull out my GG and shoot at a guy that is doing his FOH or Nova Bomb and don't kill him with my super but I can die from theirs. Supers should cancel other supers regardless. Please give this post lots of attention so Bungie will maybe tweak things in the final game. Thank You and Be Brave.

  • I think the supers were designed well to deal with AI units and not pvp mode, maybe supers should be locked so they can't be used in pvp

  • I think the invincibility is a bug of sorts because more often then not im able to kill warlocks/titans during of the super but occasionally they seem to take no damage.

  • Definitely must have been a bug. I remember I was getting overrun, so I panic hulk smashed, but as soon as I started the animation, I was dead.

    I agree with this post. Another issue I'd say too is that other players can tell when golden gun is active because of the gold hue around the character. Unlike titans and warlocks I can't tell if they are super charged at all. Obviously their supers activate right away and aren't times but I still find it to be a little unfair not knowing if someone has a super or not. Not sure how other people feel about this.

    • Supers of any type do not grant any invincibility. I have been killed many times mid super.

    • I agree. I like the Hunter class but the super takes way to long to activate versus the others. I've been killed during the animation more than once.

      • The Titan can spec into improved defense when activating Fist of Havoc, which does give him considerably more survivability when popping his ult. It's even worse since FoH already barely gives its victim any time to react. However, I don't agree with the issue involving Warlocks. I've shot many players out of Nova Bomb, just as I've been shot out of it plenty of times myself.
