In todays console landscape, very few employ their headset in any other context than in a party chat with their PSN or XBL friends. This means that the in-game chat in Destiny, in both PVE and PVP is, and will remain, all but nonexistent.
Unfortunately, this probably won't change anytime soon, so bearing this in mind I implore Bungie to expand the "emotes" to include more helpful communication macros.
As it stands, we have:
*"Wave"
*"Sit"
*"Point"
*"Dance"
This is all well and good, but it's not very helpful to productively communicate with randoms on a strike or in the crucible. I propose either a modifier button combination, or whatever other practical solution you might have for including more of these, and specifically more "useful" ones.
Examples of potential tactical and social "emotes" that we are currently lacking:
*"Requesting assistance"
*"Retreat"
*"Well done"
*"Thank you"
Now, I realize that we're in beta, and hence at feature lock, but hope Bungie will keep this in mind for any potential content patches.
