Is it possible to upgrade your armor?
Is it possible to upgrade the armor? What I mean by upgrade; for example is the stats like damage threshold on my starting armor. Is there a black smith or armorer that will allow this? Why is this important to me? Let's say I like a certain armors appearance and don't find the armor with the better stats appealing I would rather keep what I have equipped. Thanks in advance

2 RepliesFrom what I played there was no armor upgrades but you could find the better version of that armor, upgrading your defense and some of the green emblem armor gives you special stuff like increase reload for pulse riffle increase grenade reloading speed etc.

as far I heard, armor like guns will at higher rarity have upgrade trees, which can include upgrading armour value.

5 RepliesYou can dismantle all equipment in the game if it is uncommon or higher it will give you parts to upgrade or make equipment. However, in the alpha all you could do is dismantle. Unless I just didn't see the option to upgrade my armor or guns lol

3 RepliesYou can upgrade pretty much anything that's wearable, except for capes/accessories. Didn't see any upgrades for those on the alpha.

1 ReplyEverything can be upgraded in Destiny. Well, everything uncommon and up. (Green Tier) Armor is a general term, so I'll use Chestplates as an example: The basic use of the Chestplates are defense and the ability to carry more ammo. The ability to carry more ammo is the upgrade able thing. Every armor piece can be upgraded with its own specific purpose. Hope this helps. ;)

I'm wondering the same thing, but not concurred about the armor abilities ... I want to know if you can up the defense of the armor like for example... How for a semi-auto rifle you can up it's damage

2 RepliesI'm reading through the comments and am confused by what "upgrading" is in this game. Is it like what you can do with your gun? Level it up by using it? Or more like combining armor pieces to make it stronger? Or another way? Please explain this to me.

Thanks in advance[/quote] Yep. You will be able to destroy euipments, that will give you equipment parts, and upgrade other equipments with thise parts

Right, just so I am clear you want to know if you can improve the armour value on gear giving you more protection? As far as we saw in alpha the answer would be no. Some armour has skills attached to them that give them something extra such as grenade cooldown on melee kill that most of the gloves had. So some may grant extra protection or more shields/health. As of yet we have not seen what the crafting system holds or how it will work.

1 ReplyBy gaining xp and using equipment, you unlock upgrades on uncommon and better gear of all types. You can then use components - which are obtained by dismantling gear from your inventory - to construct and apply those modifications. All of this can be done in the field - no vendors required.

I wonder if adding equipment pieces to older armor will slightly tweak the way it looks....I doubt it though
