My warlocks backstory
My name is Violet and this is my story. One day my parents sealed a hive leader in the hellmouth and doing so they have sealed their own fate. Now it's just my brother Lance and I. We were on mars when cabal tanks started to rain fire upon the village. I saw people running in terror as they got shot down, I got so angry suddendly I felt a strange flow of power within me. With rage fueling me I ran outside toward a cabal captin and my insianct was to throw my hand out and a orb of power launched from me and desiagrated the cabal into thin air. At that moment, when i turned around, there were gaurdians comeing to help. We were saved! My brother grabed me and we ran towards the gaurdians. The leader came to us and said "kids, where are the rest of your people" There all dead I said sadly. He look at the last piece of armour of the cabal captin almost melted away. He look at me and said "did you this" yes i told him timidly. "The director would love to meet someone with your gift" he told me. He took my brother and I aboard his ship to see the director. When we arrived at the tower I hid behind my brother as we approached the director "child come out, i can sence your power. You are very special young one"

I'm gonna do a back story... It all starts a month after the first humans touch down on Mars and encounter the Traveler. The government tried to keep the whole thing a secret, but that didn't last long. During that time He was an aspiring astrologist who wanted to venture out into space, only He was self taught and couldn't afford to attend college so He was a dreamer. What He really wanted to do was build a Star Map so others could venture into space following His route safely. The day the Traveler came, He knew that this would change everything and that he could finally do what He always wanted since He was a child. Years later, civilization had progressed so tremendously, thanks to the Traveler, and He became one of the few to map the stars from the perspective of other planets giving way to a new age of exploration. However, that all changed when He discovered an ancient Hive home hidden away on one of the moons of Saturn or Jupiter (whichever one has the most moons) and was mortally wounded from an attack from a lone Acolyte. Upon arriving back on Earth he was told the only way he could be saved was by some miracle no thanks to an alien infection induced by a talon swipe to the arm. Later that night, He had a dream of the Traveler showing him He could be healed. He later died of his injuries. He wanted to be buried on Mars, His favorite planet, and "slept" there for many more years... He was awoken by a voice and surprised to see a Ghost floating right in front of him. He had actually started planning a proto-type for a similar type of exploratory assistant as a matter of fact. The Ghost mentioned how he had been searching for Him for many years and spoke of the Light dwelling within Him needing to reconnect with the Traveler "Your time is now a Guardian. Forge your own Destiny!" Then the Ghost lead the newly reborn Guardian to a ship to set off to a place simply named, The City... He is now a Warlock seeking to explore and help take back the Solar System. Sorry if it was too long.

9 RepliesI like it. Your backstory has a nice touch of imagery and you did well. Personally I feel backstory is gateway writing. Not only do people who write back stories go on to write much more, but they also expand their skills on creating characters. Do not let the silly others annoy you with how it is [i]just a backstory[/i]. It can make you feel like your doing nothing, but [b]you are[/b]. Walk in the light Guardian.
