BEFORE BETA:
1) I just watched an interview on IGN with Eric Osborne. During this interview he said that "Everything that is fun to do in Destiny, is more fun when you do it with your friends." I completely agree with this statement. All games are usually more fun when you can experience it with your friends. I want to be able to experience Destiny with my friends and completely submerge ourselves in this beautiful game. That is why I highly urge that you, Bungie, add splitscreen in Destiny. I LOVE this game, but as you said "its more fun with your friends." This could still be added if there is a high demand from the community, so comment and let Bungie know we want splitscreen.
PLEASE BUNGIE, ADD SPLITSCREEN.
UPDATES: 1. Deej did not say they could not do it. He said they did not want to do it.
2. I want it at launch but I understand that could be hard. (So stop saying there will be delays?!)
3. If they can add splitscreen later I would also be happy.
4. People are saying that it would not work. I am pretty sure this could work with all the game types except explore which I think should thus make both players go to the same place.
5.Splitscreen is an OPTION. Not everyone has to use it so your graphics will not be affected.
6. I also would be pleased if they added splitscreen to everthing besides the Explore gametype.
DEEJ OR BUNGIE STAFF CHECKOUT MY SUGGESTIONS AND REPLY
I know you guys have stated you do not want splitscreen put please tell me what you guys think of these suggestions:
1. Add splirscreen later after launch if a lot of people still want it.
2. Add splitscreen later after launch but make the Exploration game mode so that both players have to go to the same place.
3. Add spltscrren at launch (highly unlikely) but add it only for PvP or add it at launch for all game modes but the same rule for exploration as number 2.

AFTER BETA:
2) So everything above this point was before I played the beta. After playing the AMAZING Destiny beta, I still believe that splitscreen is highly possible. However Bungie will NOT add it. I was pretty bummed that I could not play with my brother on one console, but I decided "hey at least we can play on two different consoles." I own an Xbox 360 and an Xbox one. I pre-ordered the game for the Xbox one and got the beta code for Xbox one. My friend was nice enough to give my brother a code for Xbox 360. When they beta came out we were so excited to start playing together. We created our characters and embarked on the first mission. We were both in orbit after completing the first mission, so I went to go invite him. It kept saying "invite sent." I am looked on his screen and no invite message from me is coming up. We cannot even play together on different consoles now?! I got pretty upset completing the missions by myself or with strangers who did not even complete the mission with me. So PLEASE Bungie can you at least CHANGE this for the final game?!

I thought we were done with this topic, not happening get over it. Get some friends online, they don't bite.
-
They already said no. I doubt people making threads, polls, or petitions will change it.
-
I like how everyone is saying it is not going to happen when Eric Osborne, Community Mananger, clearly stated that it could change. "The good news for us is with a new IP you get an opportunity to set a foundation in place," Osborne said. "You get to see what players do; see what the community loves about it. You get to be reactive. And the reality is we have no idea what people are going to do, what they're going to fall in love with in this world."
-
Fvck not this again. Look man yeah it sux not haveing ss lots of people want it but this Is a rpg with a bit of mmo on top most rpgs or mmos do not have ss, why is it this game that get do much shit, would you be mad if the new FF or fallout or mass effect didn't have ss? Plus we are exactly two months away from full launch not sure thay could put it in now anyway without a delay which nobody wants.
-
No just no! This is over! DeeJ said no!
-

There is plenty of bigger threads covering this topic add you voice to them. Keep moaning together

I love how most of the people complaning that there should not be splitscreen are fairly new members.
-
Well, I do enjoy splitscreen with my brothers and sister. But I don't see it being in Destiny. What'll happen if your guest tries to go to a different planet? It'll have to force you to join him/her and that would be a little annoying to me. Also, Destiny is going to have a really beautiful scenery. Why wouldn't you want to have the full screen to enjoy the full field of view? Yea, destiny seems to be most enjoyable on a screen all to yourself, in my opinion.
-
It's 2014. You do not need split screen. Sorry
-
Hey IT WONT HAPPEN CONSOLES DONT HAVE THE GRAPHICAL POWER TO RENDER TWO SCREENS AT ONCE. ITS BEEN STATED OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
-
I would imagine this guy is screaming at his computer "ADD SPITSCREEN PLEEEEASE!" 😆
-
No. Quit being poor and just buy another system or tell your worthless friends to quit mooching off of you. Either way, the days of split screen were numbered once online gaming really took over the industry.
-
Edited by CharlieAlphaSeve: 7/10/2014 2:51:43 PMI don't see why people seem to have so much hate upon split screen especially since it's optional. I think it's insanely stupid that the only way for us to play games with friends and family is to buy another game, console and online account. With the Australian dollar, I'd be paying around $700 plus my console so $1400 just to play a single game with a friend. Isn't that sad?

Let this die.... Please.....

Edited by Ginsu85: 7/10/2014 4:47:30 PMEnough of this, they're not going to do it, suck it up and get over it...

Its a little late...

Someday you'll realize that we don't always get what we want and throwing tantrums won't change that. On that day you'll be an adult.

From Deej
We're listening. This has been a very frequently asked question for a while now. Before we answered it, we wanted to show you why we didn't split the screen. We wanted to show you a big, beautiful world that would blow your mind with immense scale and stunning imagery. We wanted to give you full freedom to explore that world without being tethered to another player who would have pulled you off your path and onto theirs. Destiny is all about exploration. From the very beginning, we decided to aim the full firepower of your console at one player. This game is about a personal journey, and we didn't want to make any compromises in rendering it. I know that you want what you want, but it's important to us that you at least have a chance to understand our goals for this brave new world.
OH god...
-
Personally I hate the idea of splitscreen in destiny, mainly because my daughter would constantly want to play it together, but also because someone cannot get fully immersed in a game if there is a second picture on the same screen. Please don't hate me because of my opinion, that is all it is, I do not disagree with anyone who says otherwise, I just do not like the idea.
-
You're still on this, accept the facts its not gonna happen so just shut up
-
While I'm not opposed to split screen addition to the game, it most likely wouldn't happen this late in development. Now, the crusade I REALLY want to see and be a part of is bringing Destiny to PC. Where is harm in simply porting the game over to PC?
-
Another one of these, really...
