Will Destiny Win Game of the Year?
Destiny definitely has the potential to become game of the year. But there have already been a lot of other really good games released this year.
Some of the big ones include:
The Last of Us: Left Behind
Thief
Titanfall
Infamous: Second Son
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Watch Dogs
Sniper Elite 3
Plus some that haven't released yet:
Alien: Isolation
Battlefield Hardline
Evolve
Assassins Creed Unity
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Far Cry 4
In my opinion that's a very strong line up of games for this year. But I think Destiny can still pull it off. What do you guys think?

Look at the date this was posted. Look at it. IT WAS POSTED IN JULY before the Beta was even released. I was asking for people's opinion which would have come from a personal estimation. I asked for an estimation, a guess, a shot in the dark, a prediction. At the time Destiny was arguably (in my opinion it clearly was) the most anticipated game of the year. Destiny HAD, I repeat again because THIS POST IS FROM JULY, HAD an insane amount of potential that Bungie failed to deliver to us. Also many of the other games on the list that many of you laugh at were also not released. I was going of multiple sources such as IGN, RoosterTeeth, and E3 about what games were receiving a lot of hype. So yes I can understand why the majority of you would believe this is a joke and are talking trash but seriously it is not that difficult to pick up on the fact that THIS POST IS FROM JULY. SO CALM DOWN. I understand that at this point Destiny has about the same chances of winning GOTY as the Cleveland Browns winning the Super Bowl

The potential was there to easily win game of the year. I think the second installment will have a better chance, because Bungie will clean up some of the loose ends and design faults (and hopefully not kowtow to Activision too much). As for this year it's still possible, but i think Farcry 4 or DA inquisition(so long as they dont screw up too much) have a better chance.

1 ReplyThis is a very weak year so I voted yes. If an elder scrolls (not ESO) or Fallout game were out this year, not a chance. Don't get me wrong, I love destiny, but it wouldn't win most year.

5 RepliesThe reason why destiny looks so bad is due to all the cry babies who bitch, due the the game not being exactly what they want it to be. Realistically destiny is the best looking and best feeling game out. It is competitive, and it is time consuming. Regardless of the whiny babies this game has taken up days of their whiny time. So there is a point in itself. Definite goty candidate. Seeing as all other games that might compete were re-releases. Cod sucks dick, anything xbox puts out from here on out will be duke. Halo is dead thanks to 343 and microsoft. Expect sony to take shit over, and people will slowly realize that Microsoft is trash. All in all destiny has a good chance of winning, seeing as even those who cry daily about the game sucking, still play the game, hours a day, every day.

1 ReplyIt won't. I love this game, but there is a true lack of story here. I love the gameplay. As the others on your list, The Last of Us: Left behind - this was a DLC content. Don't think it qualifies as game of the year Battlefield: Hardline won't be released til 2015. I like Wolfenstein a lot and Evolve looks awesome. We will see though. I kind of feel like this year was kind of weak.

I voted no. Don't get me wrong, I love the game. I've not been able to put it down since I got it. But I feel it receives too much hate and does have a few large flaws that will prevent it from being Game of the Year.

I think this year has been pretty crappy so far. But I'm not surprised as launch games always suck. Did like InFamous Second Son thou!

On tueseday I do the raid, nightfall, weekly and daily and for the rest of the week I'm waiting for Xür... When Xür is finally here I buy a gun from him cuz i don't need his armor anymore. And after Friday I'm waiting till Tueseday again.. (Sorry for my bad English I'm from The Netherlands)

Destiny does not have the potential to be game of the year. A game [u]generally[/u] has to be amazing to be game of the year, and Destiny has a lot of work to do.

I don't think it's gonna be this year but since it is supposed to be a 10 year game I think there is potential for the future.

At one hand, the first 50 hours of the game were the most fun I've had all year.. on the other hand, the last 150 hours have all been doing stuff I already did in the first 20... so...
