used car buying advice.

So yesterday, I made a deal with an autonation dealership that I would buy a 2007 honda accord with 23k miles on it, if the guy would change the belts(in the engine) because they were worn. So this morning he called me and said the car was ready to pick up, washed and everything. So I went to the place, and I was smart enough to check if he actually put new belts in. And, the old belts were still in there, the guy was sketchy from the start, but I didn't think he would pull this crap. He then told me that he tightened them so they were good to go, I was about to go tell him to go -blam!- himself, but I just got my deposit back and left. I ended up going to a Honda dealership and getting a 2011 accord in great condition, albeit for more money. But its worth it because I trust the Honda certification, and I checked out the car and everything was in great condition and it came with a better warranty, and had brand new tires/fluids in it. Moral of the story, every time you are considering a pre-owned car, check it over carefully. Also, cars coming off leases are usually in the best condition, but they are usually a bit more expensive.
