A shop near where I live is hiring, but I don't know if I'm good enough.
- I've built my own PC
- I've worked with PCs all of my life
- I know how to remove viruses
- I know how to restore computers
The only thing I would be worried about is a malfunction in something simple that I couldn't diagnose, like a RAM error that causes the PC to not boot at all (this happened to me while building my PC, but my MOBO has an awesome troubleshooting guide and I fixed it).
What is there to expect from working in a computer repair shop? I know the place also builds custom computers for people.

Some certifications would definitely help you if you intend on applying for a job as a bench technician at a computer shop.
