Microsoft & Sony players are on separate servers, so Sony players will never get to flaunt their "exclusives" to MS players in-game. In other words, the only way MS players will know they're missing out on any timed exclusives is if they actively look for articles or posts which cover that info. This, to me, sounds rather masochistic.

Hey, isn't it funny, how the budget for Destiny is $500 mil, and how Bungie / Activision made a great business decision by partnering with Sony who shares Bungie's vision, and their partnership allowed Bungie to reach a much bigger audience than Xbox fans, and to entice that much larger group that own PS4s, that they decided to put out some timed exclusive content to bring more people over to their game? By getting that larger gamer population, they have more money coming in to cover the cost of that $500 million to make the game the best that they can that both Xbox and PS players can all enjoy? That's almost as funny as how timed exclusive content is really nothing at all and people still bitch about it.

its as they said y'all are FANS meaning bungie made something y'all liked and brought. Thats it. you buy a good product because its good and the creator of said product owes you nothing else. Bungie is a great company and would have succeeded with or without Xbox, but them being trapped by a bs contract for however long doesn't mean they owe players anything. If they make Destiny all it seems it can be they can say blam the players and still sell cause its a great game we are buying not their loyalty.

Using games Call of Duty and The Division as an example of IPs that have timed exclusive content is ridiculous, and completely ignores the historical significance of this particular example. You'll notice people don't complain nearly as much about those games having such content, if at all. Now why do you suppose that is? Well, I'll tell you. It's because the developers for those titles didn't create a market on a particular platform. For this video to claim that the fact that Bungie developed exclusively for the Xbox is irrelevant shows a complete disregard to the historical significance of this problem as well. I don't know if this person is new to the community or what, but that is wholly disrespectful to make such a statement as that. Halo was THE Xbox game. It revolutionized the FPS genre in multiple ways, and cultivated a fanbase both around Halo and, more specifically, around Bungie. When Halo 3 released, it was on the Xbox 360. There were actually many people that followed Bungie to the console because they put out great products- not just people that followed Halo. Therefore, while switching to Playstation as a focus for their content, they are essentially forgetting about those people that followed them in the past, who developed a decade's worth of friendships and experiences on another platform largely due to Bungie. I've said this before and I'll say it again- nobody was complaining about Bungie including the Playstation with Destiny. Fans on the forums were actually PLEASED, because it meant Bungie was growing and would have a larger fanbase. The issue is that they aren't being treated equally- they're being treated BETTER. And after a decade of giving your all to Bungie as a fan of the company instead of the game, that is a very hard pill to swallow. Xbox fans were not asking for exclusive content because of their history with Bungie. Xbox fans were expecting equality. This video goes on to talk about how it is a good business decision. And from a money standpoint, it is... for Sony. And Activision. Not Bungie. And I don't understand how anybody could possibly say 'because it made them more money as a business decision, it is not a betrayal.' Excuse me? That's absolutely idiotic to say! Since when does profit determine morality? I'll tell you when: Since never. Insomniac games making games for Playstation then making an Xbone exclusive? Yeah, that sucks. But guess what? That doesn't suddenly make it acceptable or make it any less of a betrayal that a completely different company is doing nearly the same thing. Again, a really stupid thing to imply otherwise. Later, he goes on to say he would request Sunset Overdrive were only on playstation, but doesn't because he is a 'rational human being.' To which I reply... an ignorant one. You see, this user seems to be completely ignoring the fact that Xbox users are NOT asking that Destiny be exclusive to the Xbox One. They are NOT asking that they be given exclusive content instead. Yes, people that have loved and supported Bungie for the past 13 years. Just deal with it. To all the fans that trusted Bungie enough to spend thousands on Xbox consoles since you were probably 13, how dare you feel 'betrayed.' Gee, you're so foolish to expect equality for loyalty Xbox players. Bungie and Activision probably can't see their fire exits 'cause the money in the way. The only thing I really got out of that video is that you think Xbox players should suffer because of Microsofts actions and that Bungie/Activision only really care about money.

Timed exclusives that last a year are kind of ridiculous. Like at that point I'd rather them just say "NO never going to happen, you'll never get it so just accept and move on". The content for what it is??? Yeah the gear looks pretty cool but I'm not a fan of bonus gear/weapons as a pre-order or console exclusive. It's just stupid in my opinion because either it's worthless and you replace faster or it's really good... and you have no reason to use the stuff you find in game. Red Dead Redemption is a great example of this, you could get an amazing horse as a pre-order bonus that was better then anything you could find in game (or at least comparable) totally undermining a fun mechanic of the game. Or you could get an outfit... well at least a way to craft one... that took quite a while to get to... :/ It stinks sure, I've been on both sides of this but really as long as it doesn't impact the game everyone should/will get over it. Obviously the pvp map and strike are harder then the gear but... well who knows what the future will bring. The whole process (console exclusive content) seems really outdated to me. I own a ps4 and at the end of the day no amount of armor/ships/maps would make me buy a xbox one to play a game. But let's be fair it's hardly like Bungie is the first company to do extra stuff on a console. I remember my Red Dead Redemption box coming with a little "bonus ps3 content" sticker on it, Watch_Dogs has some bonus ps4 missions too... So please guys don't take it personally.

first and foremost i wanna thank bungie for making a great game as one who played the alpha i was so impressed with how fluid the game was and was so impressed with the laq of bugs and server problems as a player who was on the fence getting in the alpha and getting a hands on experience with destiny was key to me pre ordering the game with that said i want to put a special shout out of a thank you to so many xbox players as a life long sony player i have not been lucky enough to run into many really nice xbox community members so coming into destiny i was kinda on edge on how the community as a whole was gonna be but i have been so surprised with the warm welcomes a lot of us have gotten now i personally do understand that alot of xbox players who have played bungie games over the years do kinda feel left out far as alpha access couple days of beta access and timed exclusives go i have been a very active person is supporting certain gaming companies over the year myself so i do know where you are coming from but dont lose heart over this choice bungie and the powers that be have made as i understand why i feel they did it and where they are coming from kinda have to put yourself into there shoes and see it from there point of view issue one playstation alpha 5 day event downside xbox didnt get any alpha experiece i feel as this was a kinda meh choice as the alpha was kinda a more stress test so testing both playstation and xbox sides of the servers would have been more productive and would have giving more feed back and data for bungie to look through for fine tweeking there game upside there is alot of playsttion players who are new to the bungie community giving them a crack at playing the game for a couple days could push more sales and kinda say hey we are thinking of you and wanted you to feel like we wanted you in our game issue two playstation getting early beta access the alpha was small though there was tons to do and i played it non stop the whole alpha and was still finding new things when the servers went down the task that bungie is doing is something they have never done before multi gen and multi counsel release of a game so spacing the launches out expecially since the beta will be alot larger then the alpha allows them to address and fix anything that comes up instead of just slamming themselfs with a ton of potential problems right away this allows for a cared for and thought out experience for us the community they want this to be done and done right for us so give them a bit of breathing room and make sure to thank them for giving us such a great game for all of us to experience issue three timed exclusives as with the above section im not doing pros or cons on this just putting what i feel about it and i am even taking a couple mins to gather my thoughts so i dont get ahead of myself so i will be right back .........5 mins later back lol okay xbox players will not be playing with playstation players so thus for timed excluses do not affect game ballence giving any advantage to having one said system or the other they are timed excluses meaning that both systems get the same content no matter what you get some ships those are completly cosmetic some armor and weapons they will most likely be low level gear meaning you run your first quest and the green rewards will already be replacing said items they are not giving away say lev 20 legendary gear its just cosmetic stuff so dont worry a pvp map okay i see a point to get behind that one as variety in pvp really helps the longevity of pvp same with the strike both should be available for both systems at launch i can back that 100 percent but least they are still giving the conetent and not saying you cant run it cause you have a xbox and not a playstation overall summory we are all destiny players we are all guardians bringing the light to the darkness and kicking some darkness butt for the glory and honor of earth we will take our home back and beat up anyone who threatens our home no matter what system you play on xbox 360 xbox one playstation 3 or playstation 4 and i hope one day pc gamers will get to come play this great game with us we should be united under that one hope this one game this one community as one day i hope that a company is brave enough to push the envolope further and unite all these communities and i feel that bungie could be that company from what i have seen we have already started to tear down the walls that keep us apart now its in our hands to continue to to strengthen those bonds of community untill latter guardians i hope to see you all in destiny and look forward to hearing about and seeing your adventures in this amazing world

Sorry this a betrayal no matter how you slice it. I as well as many other xbox owners supported bungie well they got their start. Well the made a name for themselves. I was glad they would publish for everyone so the playstation players could see why they are so good, but in the same token with this exclusive bullshit. They are pissing in the face of every xbox fan they ever made. It's not what is in the content that's of issue it's that they are doing it at all. They are trying to send a message to Ms because of what happened in the break up, and burning all of their most loyal fans in the same stroke.
