So i've played a fair amount of the Destiny alpha and i was wondering what people's take on the frame rate is. Are you okay with it being at 30fps or do you think 60fps should be a minimum for first person shooters?
I think they need to make it 60fps because after going from CoD or Battlefield (which run at 60fps on PS4) it feels really bad. Personally i think they'd be able to push it to 60fps without much issue as my ps4 makes more (fan) noise watching Netflix than Destiny. Also next gen should be 1080p at 60fps haha.
Anyway what are your thoughts?

I agree especially in pvp.

I would like to see the game at 60fps, but just so the competitive community will pick the game up. Honestly I thought the Alpha looked great, and I will be buying the game regardless of FPS.

never bothered me it was awesome so leave it as it is

Most TVs on the market today won't truly render 60fps but if you hook up an hdmi and a big PC monitor you can see the difference, but how many people play consoles with a PC monitor.

Edited by dferrit: 6/18/2014 6:07:54 PMFor me its a game changer, I wont be getting this game anymore. I was close to pre order for the beta but then I found out about 30 fps lock thank god.

Something tells me the frame rate wasn't a design choice.

I think the main reason why I feel it is that I play it on a PC monitor. It doesnt feel as bad on a tv.

Playing just fine at 30fps. Some minor adjustments needed but it's fine.

I can't tell the difference. Doesn't matter to me.

Thats all true. What about an uncapped option? Infamous Second Son runs at 30fps, but if you uncap it, it can hit 60fps at times. Should we see this implemented?

The real problem is the sheer amount of stuff being rendered on screen, that and the size of the areas. 30fps has been acceptable for a while now, 60fps would be ideal, but 30 won't break the game. Either way, this late into development, I doubt they'd be able to double the framerate without lowering the resolution or cutting some visual effects.
