For some reason, I'm only noticing this now, but here it goes.
So, I'm scrolling through my computer, browsing the internet. You know, the usual. But this time, I have Halo 4's soundtrack playing in the background. And oh my goodness, I have never felt more epic while organizing my files than I have today.
It's not like Marty's work, obviously. Nothing can ever be that good (in my humble opinion.) But it has it's own sort of... playful attractiveness, that get's you interested in listening to it. The compositions are all so vastly different, it's an exciting journey to listen to one after the other, because you're not sure what to expect. It's a real shame Davidge's masterpiece couldn't have been fully utilized by 343i. It felt too quiet at points, and didn't use enough of the original soundtrack (but instead relied heavily upon the extras.)
I hope they keep both Davidge and Kazuma on for Halo 5.
Post other emotionally inspiring soundtracks (try to avoid the obvious, like Halo or Inception, please.)

Edited by Assassin 11D7: 5/14/2014 10:35:11 PMWas good music, but the majority of it just didn't fit the tone for Halo. Not having the Halo theme song for a main game was also a mistake. Kazuma's work I thought were, on the whole, much more fitting for Halo and even though all the music isn't put into the game well I can almost imagine it fitting. Halo Wars OST though, that was impressive.

Phenomenally forgettable.
-
I prefer Marty, Kazuma, and that guy who did Spartan Assault over Davidge.
-
The only track I enjoy is 117. Everything else sounds boring and generic. They don't have a special feel to them unlike 117. That track feels and sounds like a song from Halo. And most of the time you can barely hear the music.
-
cosmology from the titan fall soundtrack is pretty nice
-
It does have magnificent high points and fits Halo perfectly. Very underrated.
-
I wouldn't say phenomenal but I really liked it and I think it catches more flak than it deserves.
-
I admit that it is beautiful. It just doesn't feel like halo to me.
-
Halo 4 has the best soundtrack of all of the games combined.
-
Atonement. I came errday.
-
I love 117 and Arrival. Undoubtedly some of the best tracks out of all Halo OST's.
-
Never forget (midnight version) always brings me on a feel trip for some reason. Such a good song XD
-
I think Halo 4 has the best freaking music out of all the Halo games, except Reach. Halo 3 is really close, though.
-
You're entitled to your opinion but I feel like anyone who honestly thinks Marty's music the undisputed magnum opus of western music doesn't know a whole lot about music.

Adapt

Edited by Shdooby: 5/14/2014 9:02:50 PMI play the soundtrack whenever I'm doing homework. It can get me into any kind of mood.
Arrival <3
Edited by Neckbeard Fedora: 5/14/2014 9:48:53 PMMore Kazuma, he did 117 I believe. My favorite tracks off H4OST: Haven Blue and Green Arrival 117 To Galaxy is really awesome too, if your listening to the full version that is.

I don't believe you. However, since you asked for other Soundtracks, give Oblvion's OST a try. (the Tom Cruise film from last year) It's pretty solid.
-
I admit it's pretty damn good, although Marty's pieces are more memorable because of their uniqueness
-
No doubt. If 343 turned up the volume on the tracks, and turned down the volume on the effects during gameplay, the campaign would have been much better. It did have some really good music.
-
I respectfully disagree. The only soundtrack I liked was belly of the beast.

Some of the most awesome H4 tracks were sadly not put on either of the official OSTs. Somebody on Youtube was kind enough to upload some of them to the best of his ability. The best ones: - Gondola - Librarian - Reclaimer - Dawn - Infinity - Belly of the Beast (extended) - Fortress - Gravity (strings and choir) - Sanctum (my personal favourite) - Epilogue (my other personal favourite) There's apparently a 14 minute long version of Cloud City as well which I really want to get my hands on.

Green and Blue and To Galaxy are my favorite tracks. The KOAN Sound Green and blue remix is awesome as well(link)

Arrival and 117 are my favourite ones.
