They say this game can be played lone wolf if you want.
But can you REALLY? Without your experience being gimped in some way?
Will you be able to do location run throughs on your own? Or can that only be done in a fire team?
I know a few of my mates will be getting it, but due to family and work commitments we rarely find the same time to game together. Plus I kind of like being on my own gaming, its relaxing.

Edited by Kazhooulte: 4/24/2014 6:33:12 PMThey said if you REALLY wanted to just play alone, you will be able to do so. I believe in the lone wolf situation it will take you longer to play through.. example: a boss that could be beaten at Lv5 if you had a team helping you, but if you solo you might need to be Lv10-15 to handle him on your own. I'll most likely play the story on my own when I can, I might run in some public events while I'm making my way to the next mission for the story. You might unknowingly stumble into a battlefield of players killing each other.. but if you know your way around, you can detour around that area and still be heading to your next mission.. alone.

Im lone wolfing it. I can't stand team mates because they get in the way. With the right skill and logic, the proper character build can get you through anything. I plan for speed and offense with a defensive trait that will cover my weak point. Thay way as long as I adapt I have nothing to fear.

Of course the experience will be "gimped". Bungie has stated that Destiny will be very focused on playing with other people.

You can get through the entire story on your own. You can also explore the giant worlds Bungie has made for us, on your own. Only a small amount of the content will require a team. Things like raids and strikes, the very end game stuff, will require a team as the bosses are just too strong for one person.

I feel like you'd get the same experience as you would with the fire team but I also feel like beating/playing the game would just be so much harder by yourself

Bungie said you can lone wolf it but they also said there is content you will not be able to do on your own and I am afraid they will hide some of the best loot behind that wall....

Edited by Poiesis: 4/24/2014 12:49:34 PMYes, a lone wolf experience is what Bungie have claimed, and not a single time they've not delivered. I have a set of mates that will be playing, but, just but, they may continue on our CoD MLG clan or ditch that career for a game as good as Destiny, as will I. That or they will play on and off, and most ways I will be by myself, and I cannot stand to play with randoms, they don't know your tactics, play style, often are useless in a fight and of course don't know your jokes. I look forward to being the lone wolf that Bungie proclaims.

I am in the same situation. I used to have a huge host of online friends that I used to regularly play with. But then the darkness (responsibilities) came to stamp us out. Bungie have said you will be able to lone wolf it. I'm looking forward to going about my business, getting sucked in to a public event and then continuing on my journey.
