I have seen several threads asking why Christians believe they are oppressed. As a Christian, I answer you. We believe we are oppressed because we [i]are[/i] oppressed.
When I was younger, still in elementary school I would pray before I ate lunch like a Christian is supposed to. That is, until one day when I was told to stop by a teacher because it was taking too long. I was removed of my right to pray before my lunches that day by an authoritative figure. This was not fair or deserved to me. I was quite simply oppressed. Do you see now the trials and oppression we Christians must silently endure everyday from the likes of you? So please, next time you go thinking that we have a complex or some such, remember what we go through everyday.[/quote]

1 ReplyI doubt your story has a single bit of truth to it. They don't allow school sponsored praying because it discriminates against the individuals who do not prescribe to the predominant religion. You praying on your time in your way is your right so long as your right does not interfere with the rights of those that are around you. By the way please use live bait next time, rubber just does not have the same flavor to it.

If this is meant to be a serious thread, OP, I encourage you to read the Old Testament before you continue to worship your god, maybe so you can see some of the horrible crimes your god has committed against humanity, at least according to his own holy book. Besides modern culture leaning towards Atheism, the current U.S. Government has been kicking the crap out of the Catholic church in particular, by forcing Catholic hospitals and employers to perform and pay for abortions. Just one of several examples... google Christian persecution in america, you'll likely be surprised.

7 RepliesI'm catholic, I have had no problems. Other then a guy walking up to me and telling me both that my religion is stupid, and that I should kill myself. I told him to have a great day, and carried on with my life. Toughen up the world isn't fair.
