I wish you all the best and hope you'll not only succeed, but thrive in your future. Your music was its own story when I listened to it and it added so much to the games they were made for. Your talent is truly a loss from this company but I hope to hear your pieces in the future.
Edit: Their first official statement on it.
Edit: And so it is time. As I listen to "Never Forget" by the one and only, I see that not all is lost. While he may be gone from Bungie, his music will always stay with us. This is not the end for his career, we will soon hear the sounds of his mind in the great halls of both Destiny and future projects of his own. While it is a shame to see such a beacon of talent leave such a talented studio, all things must come to pass. This is only one step on his career, and this is only one step for the community to a brighter future. Be Brave.
Ad Astra.

While Bungie is a business and is within their right to terminate someone, this is still very saddening. Sending positive thoughts and vibes your way Marty. I know you'll prove this new chapter to be a great one! Looking forward to hearing your next project. :)

Well said. He is the man.

Will Music of the Spheres be affected by this?

Easy to rest easy knowing what Marty has done and what he will become by listening to his unbelievable work. Never Forget is probably my favorite work by him and he can bet for sure that he will never be forgotten!

One of my fav halo songs
-
Listened to his work more than everything else combined.

Marty's soul soaring scores, unparalleled and sublime in any mediem, and musical genius is enough for me to judge who is to blame in his inexcusable firing. It seems that Goddamn pencil pushers have taken over the Bungie I used to love. Why don't you hire Justin Bieber to do the score from now on? I'm sure your Asshole "Bored of Dictators" would see this as a brilliant idea, a way to get the tween girl demographic into Destiny. For an artistic geniuses like Marty to be discarded in this despicable fashion by Bungie makes me sick to my stomach, and relieved I did not pre-order Destiny yet.

Remember reach. Remember marty

Please check it out. For those who wonder who he is, or for those who want to get to know Marty one last time.

There were some great songs in the Halo franchise done by Marty. I didn't like all of them, but there were definitely some gems that I appreciated. I hope he continues to create more in his career. Good luck Marty.
-
Good luck to Marty in his future endeavors.

Marty is Infinite. Marty is Eternal. All hail the Lord of the Ivory Towers.

At least his music will always be with us.

I hope 343i hires him... Halo 5 would be amazing with his music.

Chillingly relevant to right now.

My mood just went from finding cortana again to watching Jorge die. As many have said, we don't know the full story, but that doesn't mean I can't be extremely pissed off about this. The problem I'm having with this is Destiny has a fairly huge potential for failure as well as success, and could easily destroy the company if it goes south. They need all the support they can get to pull this off. And then they fire one of the most iconic and influential members of the Bungie team. I hope they aren't over confident about Destiny, because that's how good ideas get ruined.
-
I'm sorry this happened Marty. I wish you the best.

Edited by PickleMan117: 4/16/2014 4:10:51 PMI wish I could shake the hand of the man who wrote the music that REALLY told the Halo story. Thank you Marty for everything. I wish I could slap Jason Jones for what he did to you. We'll never forget you and this atrocity that has been committed against you.

son of a b i though bungie was different i guess not i guess i wont be picking up destiny or any other game made by bungie way to piss off your whole fanbase

I owe my initiation into the Halo franchise and the Xbox to Marty. Listening to the soundtrack after my brother bought Halo 3 together with it's soundtrack got me interested enough to play it, and I've been a massive Halo fan ever since. Thank you for everything Marty.
