Never tell a girl you like her if she's not yours

No idea why you guys have the need to proclaim your love for these women. When you tell a girl you like her you give her control. The chase is over. She's done, she has power over you now. And mentally, biologically, socially or whatever that makes her lose attraction faster than you can tell the flood of your brave move. The trick is to make her like you. She'll be the one chasing you studs, asking Internet forums if she should admit to you her feelings. #RealTalk

I asked my girlfriend out in feb 2013 by admitting all that to her. Unfortunately the relationship became a long distance one. I still went down there every now and again, but she grew impatient. In October she broke it off because she couldn't handle a long distance relationship anymore. I stuck around though and we stayed as best friends. She had helped me out of a very dark place and I had sworn to myself much earlier that I was going to be there for her no matter what. So later in October she became interested in this one guy at her school. She talked to me all about him and as much as it hurt (because I still loved her very much) I gave her my best advice and didn't let my personal feelings prevent her from being happy. All I ever did was help. Throughout this two month span, I was always there for her. In late December, this guy absolutely crushed her heart by basically saying that dating her wasn't worth his time. He had lead her on for months just to do that. January was a bad month for her. Then on February 7th, she came to me and asked me out (which is a big deal because she believes that the guy should ALWAYS ask the girl out). I won her over just by being there and talking to her and understanding her. That was the best possible outcome. I'm still surprised she wanted to give us another shot. Why anyone would want to date a depressed sociopath is beyond me, but she did. So yeah, that's my story. Things are going great for the most part.
