In halo when in Theater mode you are able to zoom out and watch the game in 3rd person with all the UI there, I think it would be nice to be able to switch to this in menu.It would be nice to see your character every once in a while.
-
Yes. There is literally no reason for it not to be there. It's not obligatory and it won't affect anything gameplay wise.
-
I feel like destiny should be just a fps because bungie doesn't really do tps games and the amazing atmosphere, that im sure will be in the game, will be most admirable and respectable in first person.
-
With third person it gets closer to how we see; around 180 degrees. When in first person it limits how much you see. That's why arma included it in their games and why bungie should have it as an option.
-
1st person and 3rd person can't really mix because of the previously stated balance issues. I prefer 1st person myself because it's more realistic and makes sneaking around people viable. Otherwise, they can see around corners and behind themselves, and that doesn't really make sense

Edited by Galahad: 3/11/2014 2:25:16 PMAs much as I'd love to, people talking about balance is right. Destiny as a third-person/over the shoulder shooter would be amazing, though. I guess I'll just hang around the Tower.
-
You will see your character in third person, while you're in non-combat areas or scenarios. Making it available in PvP and such basically forces everyone who wants to take it seriously to use due to the abuse you're capable of with camera angles.
-
Hit the dance button, it puts you in third person.
-
Having third person in combat gives an unfair advantage over anybody using first person. The game was designed to be a first person game viewing the world from your own characters perspective... allowing other people to magically get floating camera perspective lets them look around corners without revealing themselves, gives them more awareness of their surroundings, and reduces the tunnel vision when aiming down the sights of your gun.

It would be better but 3rd person doesnt give the dame role playing feel
-
In destiny u are able to go 3rd person when ur in the last city and you are able to take off your helmet
-
At the towe you are reported to be able to go 3rd person
-
In the city when your doing the none combat activities your in 3rd person :D
-
They have a third person mode in the city, but not out in the wild
-
Destiny should have a 3rd person view in social areas so you could see your face. In combat however FP only.
-
Edited by IneptLizardz: 3/10/2014 6:06:05 PMThis has already been confirmed. Your guardian will have the option to go into 3rd person when in social areas, however there will be no optional third person view while in combat. Bungie wants us to see our guardians progress... They want us to see how good we look!
-
Only side of combat. Once you enter a combat zone or are within certain distance of an enemy it should snap back to first person.

Edited by Oddball: 3/9/2014 9:29:34 AMTHIS ISN'T HALO! STOP COMPARING DESTINY TO HALO!
-
Im not against it. But i think that when ur in nuetral zones. It will be an option. But when its guns up. I wanna be linin up my sights :p
-
Not in fights, but in vehicles. I find the 3rd person/first person option very helpful in vehicles. And in the tower it is 3rd person only.
-
No 3rd POV other than has what already has been confirmed. This is an FPS after all.
-
Edited by Kafuu Chino: 3/9/2014 4:40:54 AMIn combat? No, as the gameplay's aiming mechanics focus on aiming down sights. However, it's been confirmed that our characters will be in 3rd-person view within peaceful areas, such as the City. They will also briefly go into 3rd-person during emotes and when using a Focus, as seen in the trailers. IMO the brief moments of 3rd-person view, such as doing an assassination in Halo, really breaks the immersion for me. It's annoying when your view just zooms out and then back in just for that brief moment. It's cool for the first few times, "Oh wow I just stabbed his spine and kicked his head in, that was really cool." But it just gets annoying and repetitive after awhile, and I think it would look even better seeing those things happen in 1st-person view.

Edited by Jonesxmn: 3/10/2014 6:12:30 AMMaybe. In spectate view or theater. Although I thought it was pretty cool how cod did that once.
maybe only once for a reason
-
Only in theater mode if they have one
-
So, you want a theater mode?
-
I replied yes because : its confirmed that i the city itll be third person view . But all te action will be fps
