Hey all, just a quick question. I looked around a bit but couldn't find an answer, it may just be because the obvious answer is 'yes' but I wanted to make sure. Are Xbox 360 players and Xbox One players going to be able to play together on the same servers? I was thinking about getting a One just for Destiny, but then all my friends are getting it for 360. Just wondering what version I should get.

Cross-platform play is a confirmed no. Cross-gen play hasn't been officially commented on. It will likely depend more on Sony and Microsoft, and how they've implemented their online services. I'd say it's unlikely.

Microsoft implemented a whole new set of servers for the Xbox one launch. As the games are not compatible between 360 and One I would assume the servers will not be compatible as they would probably be running different code. How does it work for things like CoD and Battlefield?

Edited by Amnesia: 3/8/2014 10:49:07 PMI don't know if anything has been confirmed yet, but I doubt there will be any ability to play on the same servers as players on the next generation consoles. That being said, cross-platform servers would also be out of the question.

I don't think we have a definate answer on this yet. I'm assuming that its possible but its dependant on 2 things how many people can be on the server without it crashing and if microsoft will allow it. I really want an answer as some of my friends will be on 360 and others on one.

I would assume the servers are different but I could be wrong.
