Internships with Bungie

I'm finishing up a degree in Game Design in the Fall. I don't have the experience to be a full fledged designer at most companies (Bungie included), but I want to get a feel for the industry. So I ask, what are the chances of Bungie doing internships? I would love to get some hands on experience with Bungie. What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

  • It wouldn't hurt too ask. I would recommend you ask if its possible to set up an information interview for any who follow in the field you wish to apply. Just remember when you ask them, you should be brief, to the point, and respectful. I also agree with Specops115, if you wish to apply for your desired position, be prepared before you proceed with submitting your resume and any other requirements. Having an internship at Bungie sounds like a pretty sweet deal. :) I wish you luck.

    • DeeJ has mentioned that they list all positions (including internships) on the careers page. It has also been mentioned that internships don't show up too often. Keep an eye on the careers page for something that seems like it might fit your area of expertise but I might caution you against applying for a position until you're fully prepared for it. It seems as though they have at least a year wait period between application considerations (from the programming side at least). A year isn't uncommon - but just as a word of caution to make sure that you're going to be ready to knock any applications/tests/interviews out of the park provided the chance. Even if that means spending a couple of weeks to brush up first. Also from what I've seen elsewhere (not Bungie - never seen an internship posted here). Internships are often reserved for current students. So be mindful of that as you look around since you mentioned you finish in the Fall. Don't be afraid to pick up useful experience elsewhere to start.
