And I really want to play it again. I just purchased all of the DLC, and now I'm just waiting for them to download. I remember when I first played through this game, I was kind of impatient and just wanted to get through the main story. I never really explored much or did many of the mini-quests either. Are there any tips you guys would like to give me on how I should start off my new character, and where I should go/what I should do first?
Thanks in advance :)
EDIT: So I just blew up Megaton for the first time, and I have to admit that was hilarious! I made sure to save before I did incase I wanted to change my mind

Edited by KingWhovian: 1/16/2014 10:28:05 AMGet the alien blaster. You can score a one hit kill on pretty much anything with that thing.
-
Ive played the game like 4 different times. Never completed it. I always end up trying to make it last and exploring as much as I can then get bored and stop playing.
-
Get the Gauss Rifle.
-
Love that game, beat the campaign, plus all DLC's, it was so addicting lol
-
Get your character leveled to 30 before you do the point lookout DLC. You'll thank me later. The other ones you can do earlier, but PL is rough if you aren't maxed.
-
Don't try to kill us. Doing so will not end well for you.
-
Awesome loot at Old Olney! Head there whenever you can.

Edit (:
The so-called "Brotherhood of Steel." Now, don't be fooled by their pseudo-knightly nonsense or supposed connections to the United States Army. These... power-armored boy scouts are nothing more than common criminals with access to some antiquated technology. Criminals who have had the audacity to claim this country's most important military installation, the Pentagon, as their own personal clubhouse.
When you do need to deal with them, I suggest using a .32 rifle.

... I like your user name. It's a pornstar's name.. One that's doing roleplaying as a cop. Usually a dude or a lesbian with exception

Get the dart gun schematic, it makes deathclaws so much easier.

Edited by A Cheese Potato: 1/10/2014 1:23:47 AMGo to the big power plant with the 3 big Chimneys that you can see from just about anywhere on northern part of the map, you will get a special Power Fist called Fisto! Then you can fisto everything

Edited by Adam: 1/10/2014 1:22:48 AMMake operation anchor ridge top DLC to finish first then take the stealth gear, then head to the pit to take the silent assault rifle the get your perks on stealth run and head shot damage

Sell all of your bobby pins. You won't need them.

Edited by BaconShelf: 1/9/2014 11:03:55 PMPut intelligence to 9. Charisma down to like, 2 as its not too useful compared to the others. Then head STRAIGHT to Rivet City (Don't do anything else yet) and get the Intelligence Bobblehead- 10 INT gives you a lot more skill points to distribute and ultimately make a more powerful character. Or, if you can wait til level 28, there is a perk that sets all of your SPECIAL stats to 9. If you get this before bobbleheads, you can have 10 in every stat. Don't bother with The Nuka-Cola Challenge quest- not worth it when there's a perk for getting level 3 of all schematics. Don't blow up megaton. You can get into Tenpenny anyway. Do all the optional objectives in The Wasteland Survival Guide, as you get a lot more loot from it. Do Operation: Anchorage at the start of the game, as you get Power Armour Training from it, and it's very easy. Only a 2-3 hour questline. Pick these items up- Cigarettes, Pre-War money, anything over 10 caps, all weapons and armour, selling these will gain money. Fast. Scrap Metal- Sell to Walter in Megaton for ten caps a piece. The item is very common so easy money. Don't drink Nuka-Cola Quantum, as there are about 90 of them in the game (Without a certain perk) and they are rarе loot. The Nuka-Grenade oneshots Deathclaws Don't kill the sniper in Minefield, Arkansas as he is part of getting into Paradise Falls and isn't affiliated with a town. Stay away from Old Olney/ Vault 92. In Vault 87, don't be a dick. Rescue Fawkes. Talon Combat Armour will be the best Apparel you find in the early game, if you don't do MQ or DLC. If you see a Feral Ghoul Reaver, run. You run so far away (2x Nuka grenade) Get the Steel Ingots in The Pitt as part of the questline- they don't weigh anything until you turn In the first ten. Other than that, every ten you collect world you incredibly powerful gear that can serve you comfortably to the highest levels. Luck stat increases all skills by 0.5 for each point in it. Remove or add one to make an even number for its full effectiveness. The first mailbox in Springvale has 3x Frag Grenades, Jet and Psycho in it. Behind Megaton is a rock with Stims, A Sniper and some .308 rounds. (Sniper breaks very quickly) Is this good enough?

Get Lincolns Repeater and, for the sake of a fair game, DO NOT get the Chinese stealth suit. It kills any requirement for skill or stealth.
-
Melee character. Go do the Pitt DLC as soon as you can. Collect 70 ingots from the steelyard to get the best melee weapon in the game.
-
Fantastic game. Got 1550/1550 in both versions.
-
...why not get the GOTY version? Should be cheaper than buying all the DLC.

Edited by Votable: 1/9/2014 10:39:19 PMGet the stuff in the hollowed out rock behind megaton. And when around a good level start the operation Anchorage DLC. Which I haven to add is pretty difficult on low levels due to no health items, not counting the health (jars/things) scarcely around the map. You get Power Armor training as well as power armor that never* breaks. *has a high amount of damage it can take before it breaks a little.
