SOLVED
I am trying to practice my understanding of long division which from my knowledge isn't as complicated as it looks because it follows a repeating process that sounds something like this:
Divide - Divide the number on the bottom by the divisor. Place the result at the end of the number at the top.
Multiply - Multiply the next digit at the top by the divisor. Place the result on the bottom.
Subtract - Concerns the two numbers closest to the bottom. Subtract the bottom number from the top number. Place the result below it.
Bring down - Place the next digit of the dividend at the end of the number on the bottom
13750 ÷ 50 = 275
When I do long division however, I end up with -00333 and I keep running into negative numbers:
....... -00333
50 V 13750
........ 0
........13
........ 0
........137
........150
........-135
........ -150
........150
........ -150
........ 300
The answer should come out to 275, not -00333
