If you had the chance to go to a fictional world, would you take it?
The catch? You can never return to our world. State why (or why not) in your post.
Note that you'll be leaving all your friends and family behind. Even if you create your own fictional universe, you are limited by your own knowledge of things. So you can simply say "well i create a fictional universe with lasers, plus my friends/family are there" because these new 'friends and family' won't exactly be like the originals. They would simply be fakes, created by your own knowledge of them.
E.g., you think your friend likes chocolate, but in reality, he was lying to you. Your 'created friend' will like chocolate, because that is what you believed him to like. This applies to everything about a person; their personality, secrets, etc. So no matter what you do, unless you know literally everything about a person, they will never be the same.
This only applies if you are creating your own universe, of course. If you are going into an already created universe, any existing characters would act like their creator imagined.

Yes. The ability to travel between universes at will has always been a power I've desired; though I must ask, are we permanently stuck in our chosen universe, or is the only condition that we are incapable of returning to our original world?

If my life was a constant rush of fun and amazement than yes. Also, Halo universe..... I just want to punch a prophet, that's all.

If I go to the Fullmetal Alchemist world then all I gotta do is open the door of truth and I get to come back to our world though if it's the timeline of the series it's during WW2 so I may have a hard time.

My world would be a mix of things. It would be a world where glory is everything, based heavily off Valhalla in Norse mythology. Where everyday you battle, conquer enemies, overcome challenges, and do so with other fellow champions. You can never die because when you fall in battle you come back to life at Valhalla to battle another day. It would be a world where ancient fighting styles meet extremely advanced technology. Sort of like how the Jedi in star wars are based of Japanese samurai. You travel through space to all the different destinations where glory and challenge await you, but Valhalla is where you will always call home. That's a really rough draft of what my universe would be like.

My fictional universe is actually an omniverse that contains all eventualities and thus somewhere in it my family and friends exist exactly as they are in this life as well as every fantasy I've ever dreamed about.

Shit I love to be in the marvel universe and have my own set of powers and become an Avenger and chill out with Spiderman and the X-men that would be awesome as hell! But I want to be really over powered so I can be a major part of the universe and not a B or C class hero.

1 ReplyYou never stated one thing OP. How long the offer stands for. So, leaving what I have here behind would be selfish of me. I would live my life and secure those around me first, and then, once a few significant others around me have passed, or I'm on my deathbed, I'd accept. For sure, I'd pick my own thought of universe. And as I entered, I'd hit the reset button, rewinding my age back down to my prime. Then, from there I would escape to the vast ocean of stars and people that have called home in my head for so very long. Every fictional universe has danger in it, unless it's a boring kind at least. But the appeal of going to see what's been spun up in my head over the years would be too great.

The one from my Sci-Fi worldbuilding project. If I had to choose a specific planet, it would be Oceania. The climate there is nice, and it's arguably the safest planet in Concord Space.

A world where I know almost everything about my companions and I have a TARDIS and spartan armor and conduit powers from infamous and the aliens from the Ridley Scott movie threaten existence of human life on a far away planet. I get to pick any Doctor of my choice and an army of (friendly) Daleks to exterminate these creatures. But I would still kind of want to go back. That's what the TARDIS is for. Go back to the original universe or go back before I chose the universe.
