Halo 3 feels less awesome after H4

Is it just me or does H3 feel less awesome after H4? Maybe it's the graphics, maybe it's the relative lack of customisation, but it's most likely down to the audiovisual bombast. The Ordnance Drops divvy up way more power weapons, the audio itself is just far punchier and cooler. And yes, as the poll option makes it abundantly clear: if you disagree with me, you're a naïve hater.

      • I enjoy halo and appreciate it even MORE after Halo 4 came out. Halo 3 is that rare game that you can't even buy anymore. The ones that were all about quality, balanced gameplay, skill, and a sense of accomplishment. Halo 4 watered down everything that used to be Halo.

      • No I prefer a fair fight, no perks, or Ordnance Drops. I liked Halo, because everyone started off equal, and you had to fight to maintain power weapons on levels, and it relied on skill rather than having in-game perks to help you. That's just my two cents, I loved halo 4 at the start, I tried to keep positive about it .. but everyone knew at the end of the day, that it was a fail. If 343 were a more stronger gaming community, maybe things could of been different. I just feel after the game came out, they stopped caring. Sure they released a few things.. But halo's true community was long gone.

            Well if you're judging an old game based on graphics and audio quality compared to a newer sequel then you'll always be disappointed. "but it's most likely down to the audiovisual bombast." What does that mean? Not the words, I know what the words mean, but where is this in the game? It really makes no sense, name an example. Anyway, you're comparing 2 games that are 5 years apart, so only judge them based on gameplay. Nobody complains about graphics in Halo 4, that's not the issue people have with the game, it's the mediocre multiplayer gameplay. There is absolutely no learning curve, it's simple and cod-like. Any noob can be good at the game in 10 minutes if they've never played Halo in their life. There is a reason Halo 3 had a much longer life than Halo 4, there was replay value, there was a learning curve, the more you played the better you got, and when you were better than somebody else, you would almost always won, because that game came down to skill and tactics. Winning in Halo 4 is not satisfying, getting a kill does not feel like you accomplished anything, it's just a shitty game man. And it has nothing to do with the story, graphics, sound, or any other random shit you want to bring up.

            • When I stepped back into it, it felt a little weird. However, there were many things about it I missed. -The Banshee, is [i]fast[/i]. I wasn't used to how fast it flew, the fact that it's repeaters could kill and it's B-bomb wasn't OP. That and it's maneuvers actually did something. But the best part was, it didn't look like a flying tube of shit. -[b]I could actually get into a tank without being killed by a sniper rifle or grenades[/b]. This applied to all vehicles. -Vehicle combat was alive and well. -Since the range of the BR was shorter and it was less effective at long range, [b]people actually moved around the map![/b] -I didn't know how much I missed the maps, and the wonderful atmosphere and feel they had. -It wasn't as much of a power weapon retard fest. People had to work to get them. -No ugly "super cool customized gear" spartans. Although 3 had some ugly armours too, it also had some really nice ones, that still kept the theme of Spartans in them as well. -Having the variety of Elites again -Choppers -Nerf gun hornets on Avalanche I'm sure I could think of more, but I'll leave it be for now.

                • I completely and absolutely disagree. Just like with reach, a prolonged period of playing halo 3 makes halo 4 unplayable to me.

                • I disagree with you, but I'm not a hater. Halo 4 has potential but it's not going to captivate it's fanbase at this point no matter the changes it makes. Halo 4 will be remembered as the most casual Halo in its base settings, although uf you take extensive use of the forge and gametype settings you are able to create a very strong competitive game.

                    • So if I disagree with you I'm a hater and if not I disagree with my views on halo 4, lol, But any way I kind've get what your saying with halo 3 but the customisation and ordinance drops is what ruined halo for me. If I wanted COD elements I would play COD. Halo 3 and Halo reach feel like fresh games to me.

                      • Graphics - they don't define a game Customization - H4 was similarly lacking... Audio - meh, I liked CE's audio better. Also, the H4 Hog sounds horrible. Ordnance Drops - finding power weapons so easily instead of memorizing their location is lame. And they aren't even implemented in Campaign...

                            • I love the Arena gameplay Halo 3 had,made it better when you had to fight for weapons and strategize.Now it's-Spawn with best weapon get few kills,Drop in power-weapons then just shoot everyone and repeat.

                              • Having to use strategy, know where weapon spawns are, know choke points and the..... Ya know.... having to be skilled thing would be a shock after the experience of Halo 4. Halo 4 is the Valium of the Halo franchise. Numb, easy, unmemorable, lobotomised.

                                  On second thought it might because Halo 4 has the best visuals yet and it is the easiest game lol so no wonder Halo 3 is lacking the AWESOMENESSSSS OF THE KUNG FU PANDA! (Because lol Halo 4 is so easy compared the Halo 3, I got a killing frenzy on my first match of Halo 4-BTB lol so easy, the weapons are literally given to yu that's how meh.. the game is).
