Everything burns Ch.1: Pawnshop

Rain shot up sitting in his dormitory bed. That's the second time this week he's had that dream, he continued to feel as if this meant something. he held up his left arm to check his watch, it read: 5:37. "Thank the Traveler" he said under his breath. He had a briefing at 10:00, this was his first day on the job. He looked around his room, the wall's were the Whitest possible tan without actually being white. He put his feet on the ground and sat on his bed as he looked out his window. Outside he saw The last city on earth, with it's tall skyscrapers and bustling streets, And of course His species savior; The Traveler. This Floating Sphere had single-handedly, saved the entire human race. In the Aftermath of our would-be-destruction, we built our city under it's protective gaze, And now to repay our savior, with, oddly enough, help from it. We used the power the Traveler gave us to become Guardians of our city. Rain was one such Hero, well, he wouldn't count himself amongst them. But that's what he was even if he didn't admit it. Not wanting to go back to sleep, Rain pulled up his hood, and his mask so the only thing you could see on his face were his stormy grey eyes. Then buttoning his jacket, he walked outside his dormitory, and headed down the hallway to the elevator. He punched the Down button and the door's opened and he stepped inside. He then punched the 67 button and felt the moving metal box jerk down. After a few minutes, the ding of the elevator welcomed Rain to the Mess hall, It was a very large chrome room with the back wall just being an Absolutely massive window. Thankfully, the room was empty except a For a Trench coated figure standing in front of the window, sipping Coffee from a mug. Rain, not being the being the biggest talker avoided the Mysterious Guardian and Grabbed a tray. He picked an Orange, a bowl of Corn flakes, and some coffee. He walked over to a table close to the elevator, just in case he needed to bail. Ayra "The Crow" Lawson, stood in front of the giant mess hall window drinking her favorite; Black coffee, nothin' special just good-old-fashoined black coffee. "DING" She turned her head to the right and saw a hooded and capped figure step out of the Threshold of the elevator. The figure stared at her for a second before quietly walking off to the circular breakfast table. Ayra turned around to get a better look at this mysterious figure. He quickly and without hesitation, grabbed what he wanted in Approximately... seven seconds. Then he walked over to a far away table and eyeballed his food for a minute before eating, Ayra seemed to think this guy was interesting so she walked over. Rain sat eating his food as he heard quiet footsteps. "Oh great" he thought. Eventually, the footsteps stopped, Rain lifted his head to see a Surprisingly beautiful site. She had long light red hair, and bright green eyes, and a true smile, she held out her hand. "Ayra Lawson, my friends call me Ayra." Rain grabbed her hand and firmly shook it, she then set down her drink and sat down herself opposite Rain. "Rain" he replied, "and what might be your real name?" She spoke in a confident but soft voice. "No offense, but i'd rather not tell you, i've never even seen you before" Rain said. "None taken, just thought i might say hello properly." "Well thanks, but no thanks, i was just gonna finish and leave" Rain then chugged his coffee, took the last few bite's of his cereal, grabbed his orange and stood up. "Well uh, by then!" she said. Rain took a bite out of the citrus and the door's closed. "I am so getting him in my fire team." Thanks for reading everyone! Remember, i'm just setting up the Character's you'll get to the action soon enough.
