Low and High Level friends in Destiny.
There was moment in Destiny Informer when it was discussed that low level players would run into issues if they started playing Destiny with higher ranked friends.
One way around that seems most obvious is the ability to have multiple characters in Destiny. So you higher ranked players simply switch over to lower leveled character and enjoy the adventure again with your buddies.

higher levels dont have to,if they play low level missions it supposed to debuff your damage so you dont kill a walker with 4 shots,they will still do more damage but only as much is permitted for the level

With the exception of power leveling a low level through the ranks, what's the harm? Any gear they get from their friend's kills will be unusable until they achieve the proper level. Worst case is they just level quickly. At that point, they'll have to have decent equipment to be playable with same-leveled characters in the crucible or the PvE stuff, so again, I don't see the harm in escorting. So someone power levels to 20 with their clan... And they're still wearing their startup gear. Now what? As a deterrent I could see an AI fix where enemies target (exclusively) lower levels players in a zone. After about 20 one shots I'm sure some would quit. I fully explored all of the ?? Zones in the beta. It was fun but pointless. Cheers. Great question!

Makes sense. I don't want low level players escorted through high level areas or missions with ease.
