Ammo & Infinite Ammo

I was watching through the Destiny E3 Gameplay Trailer again and I noticed something...as the video goes from cutscene to gameplay, I noticed that the Warlock's weapons both had the infinity sign as the total ammo counter, but when I was reading through www.destinypedia.com/Thunderlord I noticed that they had listed the sixth ability on the "Thunderlord" Heavy Machine-Gun as being:
Shake It Loose Increase the chance to get ammo drops for all your weapons. Costs 50 Glimmer and three weapon kits, requires a talent point.
So basically we can assume that just for the E3 trailer they made ammunition infinite so that they didn't run out halfway through the video, but that got me to thinking...how common/rare is ammunition in the game? How much can we carry? And how does the ammo upgrade work? Because from the image I linked above we can see that the "Thunderlord" has a mag-size of 2 which is 36 rounds, and in the upgrade tree their are two perks which increase ammunition by +1 each, so would that mean that each point of magazine size is worth 18 bullets? Meaning that the total mag size of the "Thunderlord" when fully upgraded would be 72 with both perks? And how much ammunition do you think we can carry? In Halo games wasn't it 30/180? Meaning that you had one magazine loaded and six spare? But in those games you could happily pick-up an enemy weapon after each kill and never even switch out, wheras in Destiny that doesn't really seem like an option...so...what do you do when you run out of ammunition? A solution to this might be to actually allow the Pistols to have unlimited ammunition in the actual game, because with 3 weapons, map sizes of roughly 3km x 3km, and it seeming to take 1/3 to 1/2 a magazine to kill smaller enemies and a couple of mags to kill larger enemies, you can guarantee that some people will be running out of ammo at the most inopportune moments, and having a slow firing, slow reloading, but infinite ammo pistol as a back-up would mean that the fight might take a little longer, but wouldn't end with 5 minutes of running around weaponless before you get stomped on. So...even though this is just a vast amount of speculation, what do you think?
