How much of each planet do you think we will be able to adventure on? I know a whole planet seems unlikely! Has anyone got any more info on this?
-
Well if it's limited hopefully earth has multiple countries like Russia. America, China, Germany that you could go to
-
enough to keep you engaged for 10 years.
-
I just want to know what kind of mounts you can have like this one.
-
what about gravity will it have afects on me (like being on the moon) or i just stick fine like on earth?
-
According to Bungie, each planet is about 2/3 the size of the Reach campaign.
-
I've read actual news, where Bungie gives some Information about map sizes. With the used graphics engine they will be able to create maps with a maximum size of 2x2 kilometers.
-
I couldn't find measurements of Halo: Reach's world, which we could use to estimate Destiny's world size... any have a link they know of?
-
Lets keep in mind that each world or map may only be 2/3 the size of Reach, but there may be multiple places to visit on Earth as well as the other planets. Also, this will only be the first game, there will be more to come that will expand the playable area.
-
i've heard 3km X 3km and i've also heard 2/3 size of reach. Now 2/3 size of reaches entire campaign which is 8 levels is 5.3 levels. So think 5.3 level of reach campaign connected to one one another with probably small areas not connected. Then think of Destiny with 5.3 levels connected to one another on each planet available to us. Believe it or not thats really massive world size. Halo levels aren't small especially in reach , they were all pretty good size, especially the journey of completing those levels.
-
They said each planet is 2/3 the size of halo reach's entire campaign
-
Since we have a spacecraft available to travel around, it better be really really big...I hope...or I will be disappointed.
-
i hope its big enough so that you can get lost

Edited by Q9086119: 8/13/2013 12:23:22 PMEach "destination" will be 2/3 the side of reach.
-
I don't think this game will be as open-world as everyone thinks.
-
Key locations on the three terrestrial planets and the moon. Each locale is approx 2km or less. I'm unimpressed by the size of the sandbox considering it sounds like the open-worlds maps are around the same size as the ones in Borderlands 2.
-
One of earths maps is the swamps of old Chicago. I'm sure it will be huge if it even remotely looks like the ruins of the real thing would
-
Some maps are only ½km long, while others reach the current engine maximum of 2km².
-
4 to 6 square miles in each planet would be freaking awesome.
-
Each planet will be the same size as in real life.
no joke.
-
2 kilometers is the engines max, saying that I could expect several places on each planet.
-
Watch this. http://youtu.be/n6a9AWmii_c?t=5m26s Map size playable at one time is 3k X 3k.

Edited by Atom Soul: 8/13/2013 8:01:32 AMi am concerned how Bungie will deal with map edges, either a sudden unrealistic terrain or massive invisible forcefields..? [Edit: or a sudden tank!?] So.. is it 2 or 3km squared maximum? Technically speaking, the average distance to the visible horizon i.e. the distance you can see til there 's sky, is about 5 km (3 miles) at ground level. On a hill, say .10 of a km (30 metres) high it's about 15 km (10 miles).. So the maps will fall considerably shorter than the visible distance due to limitations of map areas.
-
In one video from E3 it was mentioned that it would be possible to walk around in the background landscape. It was not quite clear to me whether you can get there or not. I'm not very familiar with the Russian landscape, but they could use natural obstacles to limit the map/s.
-
More like my Penis size, about 2x as big as any planet you will find
-
more like map size
-
It looks like all the eye can see is playable space.
