Can you call the BMW 3 series coupe, a 4 series?

Well I'm sure most of you know that the new 3 series coupe is called a 4 series, but can it be called that?

  • This whole name game nonsense is stupid to me, but the car looks phenomenal! I can't wait to see the M3/4. One downside though about the next M3/4 though is that it's going to use a turbo charged strait 6, I'd definitely prefer the purity of a high revving naturally aspirated engine (the S65 revs to 8200 rpms!), like they always have been. However the turbo strait 6 will offer a lot more tune-ability options which is one positive.

  • That's as silly as the 6 series.

    • Well, changing names for the sake of changing names it kinda stupid in my opinion. Maybe wanted a difference between it and the Mazda 3i? But that wouldn't make sense, the M3 came first. Also, I like the M3 name better, if anything for that M3 GTR in need for speed most wanted.

      • What does BMW itself call it?
