Smoke Signals....Someone needs help!
I hope everyones 4th of July was great,while i was setting off fireworks in my backyard an idea came to me in the way of Destiny(yes i think of the game most of the time)what if you are out exploring either lone wolf or with a fireteam and either yourself or fireteam can shoot,say flares,into the sky to let people know you need asisstance or help of any kind.
Depending on the color of the flare could represent what you need help with like red would mean you're pinned down and need back up for example of course if your indoors you can set up a beacon that people can pick up if they're near by.I would like a timer and limit to this so it can give a different strategy to the game....
....So would this be something you would like ingame or just leave it as it is where people will happen to come across you by chance and help if they want?

Do you even know how many people would just trow them in the sky and troll? This is a fantastic idea for the game,but not for the players.

2 RepliesThat's a great idea, it shouldn't be a flare though, it should be a beacon/waypoint thing that comes from your ghost

2 Replies- You send up a flair to signal you need help. - People come. - People kill you and take your loot. Well, if you can. But it is a great idea! As an addition.. it would also draw wild animals to you, and also alert enemy factions to your location. That way there is some risk involved in asking for help and you may have to hold off enemies or hide until help arrives.

2 RepliesI don't know man, if this is soo far into the future, I don't think try would be signaling with flairs unless there is zero communication on comms and need help right now. I also think they could use it as a way to light up a room

1 ReplyFor some reason,the first thought that came into my head was Attack on Titan....but back to the topic. Not sure if smoke signals will be in the game but signals should be,as in a beacon or a notification,after all you are going to be underground or indoors sometimes and smoke signals wont work well there..

2 RepliesAlso they could be used to find weakened people to loot or a way to make people think you are vulnerable and lure them into a trap. A very genius idea especially for a PVP area if they have areas that are like just a large desert area that PVP is alowed.

5 RepliesWhat if instead of a flare it was your Ghost that would fly up into the air? Just figured that could be something else that he could be used for. So same idea, just instead of a red flare, he just emitted a red aura around him as he launched into the air, basically showing a huge beacon going up into the sky that anyone within a certain range could see.

1 ReplyCould work but not everyone is going to remember what each color is for. If there is a guardian handbook (Use it as a tutorial Bungie!) then it would probably be easier to remember.

2 RepliesSounds great, but the only time you can encounter a stranger is in the Public Event. But that's on the Campaign, maybe there are other ways you can go solo and encounter a stranger. We still don't know much of the multiplayer side of Destiny.
