I have to admit that my first reaction was that $10 seems a bit steep for 3 maps. The maps look cool, though. The pricing just doesn't seem in the tradition of Bungie's other downloadable content.

Front Page #12 [b][u] To Resolve Some Issues [/b][/u] Here's The Facts. 1. Halo 2 Maps Were Cheaper. 2. $10 Is Quite A Bit To Ask. 3. The Maps Weren't That Great For Halo 3. But Here's The Factual Answers... 1. It Takes Alot More Coding And Time To Actually Make A Map In Halo 3 Than It Took For Halo 2. And The Maps Were [b][i] IDEAS[/b][/i] Before They Were Even Made...Which Is Why They Weren't On Halo 3 Prior To Its Release...(With An Exception To Standoff And Even Then They Said It Wasn't Playable Due To Time Constraints). 2. You Don't Have To Pay For These...Just Wait...It's Not Necessary To Keep Posting "OMG RIPOFF BUNGIE N00b!1!" They Said It Will Be Released In Spring 2008...Just Wait And You Can Keep Your Minimum Wage. Bungie Is Not Forcing You To Buy The New Maps...This Is Why They Discussed In Their Post That They Are Gradually Going To Change The Maps In Matchmaking...Not All At Once Like In H2. Not To Mention Microsoft Gets Some Of The Proceeds...For Those Of You That Claims Bungie Has Multi Billion Dollar Accounts...It Doesn't Go Directly To Bungies Pocket...Get It? Microsoft Points? And Because Of The Merger...Microsoft Took Half Of The Gross Income...That's How Mergers Work...You Need To Understand Economics Before You Can Even Start To Understand How The World Works. 3. Sure The Maps Weren't Great...But You Can't Do Alot About Time Constraints When They Spent So Much Time Making The Ability Of Recording Videos And Posting Them On The Net. ---A Rebuttle To This Would Be..."Then Why Not Just Wait On The Release Of Halo 3?" -Simple Answer...There Was Already Too Much Money Spent On Promos...Not To Mention Bungie Had To Have A Deadline Because Of Microsoft...Remember The Merger? Gosh Im happy about the maps and all.. i was just really excited that it was going to be team hardcore again in matchmaking.. so many people miss that and bungie has no idea how fun it is for mlg teams to just jump right in and start playing teams with br start =/

Too bad you have to pay freaking $10.00...apparently the guys over at Bungie are not satisfied with their MILLIONS of dollars they made off of the Halo 3 release. Freaking greedy, I really did not expect them to charge for these.

will they eventually become free to download just like the downloads for halo 2 because there are some people that have problems with their credit cards that means they cannot get microsoft points?

Damn it, I don't feel like paying, especially for a map that was supposed to be in the game. So that's why Halo 2 shipped with 12 maps, and Halo 3 shipped with 11. Oh well, at least the maps aren't necessary for MM.
