Is it worth it to get Halo 2 for PC right now? Compatability/pop#?

Hello there, I have recently been interested in getting Halo 2 for PC, but I wanted to research it first before I make a dumb mistake. I have been playing Halo for most of its 10(almost 11) years now but mainly on the Xbox. I am looking at this version on Amazon:: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NV8F58?qid=1344778771&sr=8-2&vs=1 But it has some very mixed reviews.. I have a 64 bit Windows7 desktop that I built myself:: i5 2500K Nvidia EVGA GTX 560(non Ti) 8 GB Crucial RAM at 1600Mhz (main needed specs) So my question is mainly, is it still worth it to get Halo2 for PC? I wouldn't be playing much multiplayer, but I want to link it with my Gamertag(gold mem) and have it play well and stay connected online.. I have seen some people lately saying that because of an update for GFWL, it doesn't easily accept the older games' validation codes anymore. Is this an actual problem and means that I shouldnt get H2 for PC(Im using Win 7) because it's hard to remedy this(or any other hiccups)?? Or do you think I should go ahead and get it? I do wish to play some Halo 2 again, online and campaign.. What do you think?

Your PC in theory should run it no problem. HOWEVER, Halo 2 Vista can be a hit and miss with people, varying from not wanting to run (usually fixed by updating the GFWL client separately) or choppy performance. So here's some things you should know before considering purchasing Halo 2 Vista and hopefully this will answer your questions too. 1) The validation codes you are referring to is actually the CD key install limit. Halo 2 Vista can only be installed 5 times before you need a new CD key. DO NOT buy a used copy, you do so at your own risk. 2) Multiplayer player count hovers around 30-75 at any one time. You will not get the same experience as Halo 2 Xbox matchmaking and there is no rank system (although there is a mod that enables it for some servers etc). Furthermore, the 360 controller is superior to the M+K in multiplayer due to the ridiculous aim assist and mouse lag over 60fps. There is also a Co-op mod which allows you to play most of the Arbiter levels in co-op with up to 16 players although it can be a little buggy. Take note of these if you want to play any form of MP. 3) The game comes with the usual perks from being on PC, higher resolutions and looks sharper, AA etc. GFWL achievements will link to your XBL Gamertag and so on. To conclude, it really depends on how much you want to play Halo 2. I've listed some things for you to consider and tried to balance pro's and cons but the decision is yours.
