So far we have only heard the Bungie confirm playable ares in our own solar system but they could still announce new planets like they did at E3 with Jupiter and Mercury. Also, these hostile aliens definitely didn't come from our solar system so I could see guardians going to our enemies home planets to crush them like they attempted on us, after we win our own solar system back of course. We have seen some pretty advanced vehicles in game-play and in trailers so I think humans will most likely have the technology for exploring out of our solar system. This would probably take place at the end of the Destiny story or in sequels to Destiny.

if you look in the bottom left of the Solar System map, it says the following: SOLAR SYSTEM, Milky Way Galaxy, Local Group. this could mean that we might be able to travel to other solar systems, star clusters, or even galaxies!

Gamescon should bring info like this... and NEW gameplay!
-
That'll probably come after the first few years, like you said, after we retake Sol. But my money says that's in the works.
-
That would be Epic, then with the next installment of the ten year plan Bungie as we take back our ground planet by planet we take the fight to them . Sorry getting ahead of myself lets anxiously await Bungie day !

Edited by iGraviton: 6/23/2013 7:03:46 PMThe first Destiny title will most likely take place exclusively in our solar system. The next 3 titles will probably gradually expand into other solar systems, and perhaps even other galaxies, with the "Comet" DLC explaining why we can now reach these new areas.

Destiny still has a long time until it's released. If there is going to be more planets we will learn about it soon enough

Edited by Gamer Whale: 6/24/2013 2:40:17 PMI have this theory that there will be one or two empty launch pads in Old Russia, and in D2 or D3 we'll find working and/or failed colonies on nearby systems.

You can't. You'll be killed by the Guardia--oh, wait....
-
awwww... I thought this was a space discussion thread... poop
-
Ok, here is what bungie seems to be doing. They give us a place in the beginning. Then in destiny 2,we get some more places. In destiny 3, even more. Finally, we get even more places to go. Something like that.
-
Well, I'm pretty sure that inside of this 10 year voyage we will eventually have to leave our solar system (perhaps there are other travelers) And these aliens definitely aren't locals....lets kill some!
-
We're trapped within the solar system by the enemy strengths and are outnumbered. We literally only have a city left, the resources it would take to leave the solar system at humanity's state with in the game is near impossible. I believe the only reason small ship can still accomplish space travel is that they are fast and small enough that they'd fly under the radar and sneak past the enemies with bigger ship prepared to wipe out humanity.
-
In this game you will only be able to explore the Solar system. We don't even know to what extent.
-
No i dont even think we can go far enough to reach nrptune.
-
Maybe in later add ons yeah, but for now if they give enough details to each planet the solar system it'll be more than enough to keep us occupied, At least for three years of adventuring.
