Things I Noticed in the Inventory Screen.

Link to picture 1.) Weird Mesh Contact If you look closely, the barrel and body of the gun don't appear to connect fluidly; they're segmented. This agrees with Bungie's point during the GDC in which they stated that each weapon is created modularly. 2.) Weapon Stats The stats displayed below the weapon indicate: Accuracy, Stability, Handling, and Magazine Size. Personally, I think these stats, in conjunction with the odd-mesh contact, suggest a weapon crafting system similar to Blacklight: Retribution. Each part of the weapon has a direct impact on how the weapon performs. As for the weapon level, Bungie has stated numerous times that our players evolve as time goes on. It makes sense that as you use a weapon more and more, it becomes more and more powerful as it evolves with your character. 3.) Perks + Upgrades I've never seen skill-trees for weapons before, but it's an interesting concept that would reinforce my previous point of a weapon that evolves with it's user over time. It appears that in order to upgrade a weapon, the player must meet a requirement for Glimmer (most likely the in-game currency) and weapon kits. The perk description also indicates that it requires a talent point to be unlocked. To me, this suggests that the leveling system for both our character and our gear are integrated into each other. So that's just my two-cents on it. Feel free to share your own opinions below.

  • That's not the inventory screen -__- They didn't show an inventory screen at E3. If you look at a still picture of the character, the inventory tab was to the right of the character menu.

    • methinks trading guns will be quite interesting, as it's a bit like pokemon. things have different values depending on how much EV training you've given them. leveling your gun is ls similar to that. shit what if traded weapons leveled up faster. destiny is pretty much open world pokemon except the pokemon are replaced with guns.

      • I just hope it doesn't get TOO crazy like Borderlands. Finding new weapons was fun for a bit, but after a while it was just too much.

      • I thought it was odd that it was less of a skill tree and more of a skill path. Also, if you look at the individual upgrades, it's implied there will be Bloom and Recoil. Not sure how I feel about the Bloom yet.

kinda disappointed that its a skill path and not a tree... that said it was all still amazing ...although as other have said that could not be the case for all guns.

          • I am waiting to see what they do with weapon/class interaction. Will certain classes have certain weapons (hunters are the only ones with snipers, titans are the only ones with rockets, etc)? Or will everybody have access to all weapons but classes just give a special perk, upgrade, bonus, etc to certain guns?

            • Is it just me or does the the symbol high in the center near the gun barrel look like the Titan symbol? Maybe, indicating a titan using this weapon gets a special perk?

Are those two circles outside of the skill lane some sort of special achievements?

              • Now i can disagree with Graviton more.... kidding kidding. The perk system definitely is interesting, it will make it to where people's guns aren't always the same, so it will add a feel to the game. In a interview that Jospeh had at E3, i believe he said that us as guardians will have perks to upgrade too (or something like that). So that means that each guardian will be different per player, which will be very interesting to see the different combinations of people. As for what you said on the gun building. I truthfully don't want that. It has never been a mechanic in games that i liked, and sorta pointless to me. 99% of the time, their will be guns that you find that are better than what you make, so i don't really see a point. But some people like that, so we will see. What i'm interested in is the amount of guns we can hold. You see that before he goes to the thunderlord screen; you see 2 other weapons. The pistol thingy, and the assault rifle/SMG. So we can hold three weapons. Will their be a restriction on them? Like can we have 3 SMGs, or can one slot be ONLY a pistol, ect.. So many more questions, why do we have to wait for 2014 -.-

                • I was wondering when I would see something like this. Happy your the one to put it up grav. In all accounts, I hope that this is true. I want to be able to build my own gun and call it my own. At the very least, i want to customize it.

                  • The image is too large, can you put a link in the OP so we can see it? One thing I noticed was the grey bar underneath the title. It looked to me like a XP bar, or something of the sort. It makes me think that certain perks and upgrades become available after a certain amount of kills etc? I could be wrong but that's my take. You're spot on with everything though. I love the direction they're taking with the weapons, true customization and upgrades.
