When I'm in Wal-Mart and I see kids at the age of 8-12 texting, it makes me want to punch babies.
When me and my friends were their age, we would talk in person, play in the woods, threaten to pop each with the rubber bands. Not sit on a damn couch watching MTV and texting. It's a shame how could anyone allow them to waste such golden times.
I'm 15, yes I text, but I only do it to make plans with friends, and just talk to friends. But really how did kids change so fast? Honestly?

Edited by God: 6/1/2013 6:11:33 PMChildren always are drawn to the most convenient or most stimulating activities. Modern videogames and media are both extremely accessible and highly stimulating, so as long as they exist most children would be drawn to them, unless completely sheltered from it. The other unfortunate factor is that parents these days are afraid to allow their children outside, since they are constantly being reminded of pedophiles and kidnappers (one of the first things children are taught is not to talk to strangers) despite the fact that statistically a child outside is more likely to be struck by lightning twice than abducted. Those major factors combined, we have forms of entertainment that children are naturally drawn too available within the home, and a generation of parents who are scared to let their children leave the home.
