Where is the pro to being a Titan?

So according to "The Law of the Jungle", it seems like a Titan and Hunter seem to hold their own in a firefight, almost identically. And this disturbs me. Why? Yeah you might say that they were highlighting a Hunter's ability, but they made him TOO good in a way. I was hoping the CGI fight scene would show the Titan tank a big shot for the Hunter during the firefight or something signifying strength. I think Titans should be able to accurately shoot automatic fire, that should be their big advantage (read: no bloom). Hunters would have smaller initial firing reticles but have bloom. Warlocks would have reticles like Titans and have bloom, but they have space magic so it evens it out. What pros do you think the Titans should have over others?

  • Has nobody mentioned the super-cool armour? Am I the only one picking classes based purely on the style of armour? Seriously, I love the metallic look and the swept-back helmets. I'd choose Warlock if I made a second character, because of the contrast between the cloth robes and full helmets.

    • One of the ideas I've had for the Titan's pros is maybe they could take a Heavy Weapon in the Primary Weapon slot.

      • The ability to take all fire so the warlock and hunter don't get shot. I need a titan with me for that.

        • The titan will be able to take more damage without dying but the biggest difference will be the abilitys The Warlock: Novabomb: throwing a big bomb of the travelers incredible powers. Solarflare: create a fierball with the energy of a small sun. The Hunter: Golden gun: load the Weapon with the energy of the Traveler(one shot) ???: throwing a granede that split up in small red energyballs, which home in, on the enemy The Titan: Havok fist: a grounde slam attack, with the travelers power ???

        • All classes are going to be using whatever guns they want. It hasn't been announced if certain classes will get boosts to certain guns but bungie did say that they don't want anyone to regret their class choice. Moving on, everyone has some kind of space magic. Even titans, who have the energy smash thing as one of their revealed abilities. However it is entirely plausible that since they announced healing and team buffs for the warlock, that the Titan could have some kind of special defensive shield or something, and the hunter would be all about the damage. It just keeps seeming more and more like a classic mmo 'trinity' but more homogenized so you don't get stuck only doing one thing.

Increased defense and power while sacrificing space magic, range, accuracy, rate of fire, speed and stealth. I thought that was a given.

            • its live action , so don't get your panties in a bunch . secondly have you ever played rpgs or mmo's before ? the titan is practically the embodiment of the tank . the tanks job is as follows , the tank is guy who goes in first , he has to be strong and able to absorb the enemies attacks , acting like a human bullet hose so his comrades don't take the brunt of the punishment , and have heavy fire power to clear a path for his comrades . to be honest I don't know why you'd hate the hunter for being able to hold its own in a firefight , the hunter does not have a ton of armor or have the strength of the titan , nor is he as strong in his abilities and knowledge of the traveler's powers as the warlock, so what is the hallmark of the hunter ? Stealth and "marksmanship" , his ability to hold his own in a firefight, as the hunter is said in lore to take big risk and explore the frontier , often alone .

I think it's more of just small abilities that support or fit the playstyle in some way, rather than different weapons having different stats for each class. The Titan's style is a lot like the Master Chief. He can run in, smash the ground, knock some people around, kill a couple with his assault rifle, finish one off with his fists, then step back just a little bit and hide behind that tiny rock to regain health. The Titan isn't the type that stays back much. He's in the battle, fully aware of where every bit of cover is, and knows just the right time to take cover before heading back out and dealing a lot more damage. He runs in, kills people in a badass unstoppable manner, ducks behind cover to reload his weapons and recharge his health, then hops out and gets right back to it. To me, the Hunter- at least in open combat- is about staying a bit back and using that sexually attractive revolver of his. He doesn't use cover as much, but since he's a bit further away he can move around and make himself a difficult target to hit. And since he's an excellent marksman, his job is about lining up that shot and taking guys out with as few shots as possible. I don't think the Titan is so much of a Tank, as he is... more of a "brutal infantry" character.

                      • As well as more hit points.. I would go with more damage when using Melee attacks.

                      • Well more hitpoints I imagine, as well as better armor and bigger guns that do bigger damage. They are essentially tanks.

                        • I would say hitpoints. In the official gameplay reveal, at the end Josh's lv 11 gets hit by a missile from the devil walker, nothing. Another warlock, who was lv 12 got shot by the same thing and her tag went yellow indicating severe damage. Definitely stronger health wise.

                          • Titans (my ideas) be more resilient have a higher ammo cap more, bigger, and better weapons. Larger inventory stronger melee attacks and a cool name

                            • A teaser trailer that focuses on a specific Hunter and is intended to highlight the teamwork aspect of Destiny is not representative, at all, of the game's gameplay. You are reading too much into the teaser, it's intended to be a big picture thing. the message of the teaser is "... for the strength of pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack", the rest is just pretty visuals to look at.
