As I understand, the rule is that your post has to merit some kind of discussion. I can see why that rule stands, but for the sake of a general sense of camaraderie, I I think these threads should be an exception. The majority of us here in the current state of the site are here because we feel as if we belong to this community in a special way, and there shouldn't be any more need for conversation than to congratulate our fellow members on sticking it out with us another year! Personally, I always love seeing these threads, and it always grinds my gears seeing them get locked, even though I understand where the mods are coming from. So, how does everyone else feel about this? Am I the only one that thinks bnet birthday threads should hold a special place in the rules?
