What do you like more?
I was always a Marvel guy up until I fell in love with Injustice. So now I'm more of a MarC or Dvel guy.
So, to throw in a vs thread, who would win?
Deathstroke vs Deadpool
Discuss Marvel and DC

DC- Superman>Captain America Batman>Iron Man Captain Marvel (DC)>Captain Marvel (Marvel) Doomsday>Hulk Wonder Woman>Miss Marvel I'm sensing a trend here....

Edited by Madman Mordo: 5/11/2013 11:51:31 AMLel at the Marvel fanboys and girls. "MARVUL IS LESS OP AND RELATABLE" Oh so an all powerful plot device glove (Infinity Gauntlet) that can do just about anything isn't overpowered at all? It's funny how you guys call out Superman for being "OP" yet Marvel is just as bad if not worse.

Edited by Rotten Tanuki: 5/10/2013 3:16:14 PMNeither. The non-stop string of crossover events by both companies made me quit comics.
-
Neither. Both have been recycling characters made by men greater than them for several decades now, while the stories and heros grow ever more absurd and over the top, having long zoomed past ridiculousness. And of course there's the continued degradation of their female heros to eye candy and -blam!- bait.

I like Marvel. For me, the DC characters seem too hokey and campy. Marvel seems to want to deal with more gritty concepts like the war on terror (Dark Reign) the financial meltdown (Fear Itself) the irrational fear after 9/11 (Secret Invasion) and so on. Its been part and parcel of the company ethos from the beginning. The X-Men were founded as a story to mirror the Civil Rights Movement. Hulk was our fear of the Atomic age. Iron Man was the fear of the Military Industrial Complex growing out of control. DC addressed these issues, but it was existing characters making statements on them. So Superman renounced his US Citizenship to say he was a citizen of the world. OK, He's STILL Superman, still based in Metropolis. So, he made his statement and moved on. The X-Men and Hulk ARE the statement.

I used to think I was a marvel fan, however recently I realized the only heroes I liked from Marvel are Spider-man and Ironman. However I like or have an interest in quite a few DC heroes

Marvels characters are more realistic, and marvel tells better stories. DC portrays all of their characters as gods, and that they are invincible, when the truth is that they are pretty pathetic. So marvel wins be default.

Edited by kgj: 5/10/2013 3:44:26 AMI like Marvel a lot at times, don't get me wrong, they're very fun to read, but DC's universe is far more compelling. Specifically because of Superman and Batman. I find the sociological and psychological predicaments they're in speak more to me than any Marvel character. Also lol at the people saying Marvel is more realistic and DC is OP. One Above All anyone? Wow I already posted here. But yeah, Toho Kingdom all the bloody way.

DC cause Wondertits

The only DC character I really like is Batman.
-
Deadpool, baca use Marvel is better.

1) Deadpool would win even though Deadpool is a ripoff of Deathstroke who is a ripoff of Taskmaster. 2) I prefer Marvel, but they are making things really complicated right now. I follow the X-men, and there are at least ten different X-men comics that all tie into each other. That is to much. I feel that Marvel need to do a New 52 like thing soon.
-
Deathstroke v Deadpool would be an insanely fun match to see, but i think Deadpool wins due to his healing factor. I don't really read comics. But my brother and a lot of our friends are big into them so i do pick up a lot. My brother is Marvel, our friends are mostly DC. I like the Marvel characters and heros more, but i think the whole thing has gotten a bit out of hand, with all the characters having multiple universe versions which occasionally cross over and all that stuff. Like when you say "Spiderman died" everyone thinks Spiderman is dead, but really it's just the Ultimates one, and the 'real' Spiderman still has his own comic going, which i guess crossed over into the Ultimate 'verse or something? And then there's like seven variations of the X-Men comics all in one universe. It's pretty hard to follow it all. But then DC has got the most OP heros ever. Superman is invincible, Batman's got the greatest plot armor of all time, Green Lantern can do pretty much anything as long as his ring doesn't lose in some overly complex color based version or Rock Paper Scissors, and now Aquaman is OP because they were apparently tired of people calling him out on being a giant pussy before. I thought the new 52 would be cool, because everything sorta started over so it wouldnt be so complex, but it seems to be going down the same road as Marvel. Batman now has like five sidekicks, half of which are still called Robin, and i guess they have their own comics too? And then one of them dies and it's supposed to be a big deal, but when Bruce's mentor has a way to raise the dead, which has already been used on a freaking dead Robin, i find it hard to see the real impact of it all. But how badass would it be if Red Robin died, got Lazarus'd, and came back as Dead Robin? I should write for DC. . . They've both got pros and cons, but comics just really aren't my thing. I always felt hey were super over priced, because i seem to read them in a matter of minutes and i'm not the type to re-read them, and you're almost required to follow several comic branches to get the full story at times.

I much prefer Marvel. I'll admit a lot of it is due to me growing up with all the Marvel cartoons of the 90s and then the Spiderman movies in the early 2000s, but there's something that just puts me off about DC. I think their characters are generally less inspired and even the movies don't do it for me. Watchmen was quite good but had some bad pacing and I thought all three of the Nolan films were terribly overrated. I don't dislike DC, just don't really like them either.
-
I initially liked both, but the Injustice comic series has pushed my fondness of DC up a couple of notches. They're still both great in their own right though. Marvel for it's down to earth story lines and relatable characters, DC for it's iconic characters and inspirational themes.
